Skands Campground — Reviews

Rated5.0out of 5Fantastic!
This campsite was extremely clean and well kept. Very friendly staff and campers. We loved the beach and the views. We are hoping to come back next year.

On the Campspot web site it says the sites offer sewer connections, they do not, AND had to pay $20 dollars to have access to the dump station. There are barely any green common areas. It’s says it’s pet friendly, but pets have to be restricted to the camp site basically. We are definitely not going back.

Rob welcomed us as we drove in. Got us settled, explained where everything was, the amenities, very helpful. The campground had pristine washrooms. Huge trees. And set right on the lake.

I actually didn’t stay long enough to make a more accurate rating. We spent one night and had no complaints. Caretaker was nice and helpful. Andy

The Pros • Quiet and peaceful. • The lake is beautiful. • Showers and washrooms are clean. • Lots of trees and shade. The cons • There were 3 bears in the area, and no signage at all in the campground warning people. • There are no actual site markers, you just park. • The website says sewer connections, but there are no sites with sewer connections. • My site was actually quite big, but I felt very crowded. • You need a 50’ water hose. • The showers are $3.00 for hot water, but nothing to tell you how long it will last. • The sani dump is poorly located if someone is using it, you can’t leave until they are done. Their RV will block the road in and out. • It is 90% permanent and seasonal sites. • WIFI is HORRIBLE, even if you do connect, you’ll lose the connection within a minute. • Cell reception is very poor. • Garbage cans were over flowing, and smelled horrible.
