Sparta Pines RV & Campground — Reviews

Would not recommend this campground. The owner was nice, however there are no amenities, and the showers were not clean, pretty sure they didn’t clean them for Atleast 2 weeks during our stay. Way too expensive for them not to even have a playground for kids

Pros - The guys that ran the park were kind. Full hookups Cons - $80 site fees. This is not a campsite, the “campers” there are full time residents. Campers are on bricks, tarps over the roofs, picnic table bowed from weather, piles of leaves and sticks all around the campsite, the “pool” was a nonexistent with the remains of a sandpit and ladder still there. Didn’t even dare go to the bathhouse, office or laundry facilities. Paid for 2 nights and left after only being there for 1.

The campground area outside is clean and so was the rustic cabin. There wasn’t much privacy as the cabins are across a small dirt road from a house, facing the house. The outdoor pool is smaller but was open. I didn’t go check it out as it pretty close to some rvs that looked to be more permanent residents. In fact, many of the rvs appeared to be permanent residents. The bath house/bathroom needs some work. The toilet seats are old and looked dirty, some were cracked. They could have been clean but due to age appeared dirty, though. The store was open but did open later than stated. For a couple of nights, it was a good stay but for a 4+ day recreational camping trip, I would not necessarily stay here. Mostly because there wasn’t much privacy with the cabins being in such close proximity to someone’s house and the toilet seats. 4 stars for the cabin cleanliness and the pretty campground though!

Cabin was clean. Bathroom could use updating but was clean.

The campground is currently a little rustic (outdated 30a electric boxes). The staff is excellent some of the existing trailers need to go when up grades occur. This was a nice base of operation for our long weekend with friends.

Loved the atmosphere and the camp was in a good location. Would stay here again.

Office was not open . Paid for full hookups and could not use.
