Very nicely landscaped campground. Would have given a 5 but the for proximity to the trains and the back in sites were tight. Also no picnic tables.

We’ve stayed here before and were terribly disappointed this time. We stayed 9 days and everyday was a battle with ants - thousands of them, the site was not cleaned before we pulled in, the trash mist days was overflowing, the bathrooms were not very clean. The pool area is nice but one day a large party of men and kids took over the pool and no one could enjoy it as they were so rowdy and had huge floats. Cell and internet were almost non-existent. This was a different experience than what we had a few years earlier. Raylynn in the office however was a breath of fresh air. We will not return.

We have always enjoyed our stay at Ocean Mesa! We are definitely concerned about the overall condition of the property. Broken walkway lights, dead plants, trash, etc. Hopefully the newer ownership will pay attention to their investment and NOT let their beautiful resort fall into further decline.

This campground is completely overrun with ants! Looking at the google reviews (which I should have done before I made this reservation) it is clear that this is an ongoing and known issue. Within the first day our RV was completely full of ants, our dog's food was ruined, and so much of our own food was full of ants as well. They need to invest in some basic pest control around the sites. We will most certainly not be back.

The store, laundry room, and pool area were well maintained however my site had dirt, dead leaves and a white residue powder on the cement pad which i cleaned up myself. Trash cans at sites were emptied daily. I appreciated the mature landscaping that provided shade and privacy. Because of my visit during the middle of summer there were lots of kids tearing around on e-bikes and e-scooters I appreciated the hiking trail that led to the El Capitan Canyon Resort next door and being able to walk to El Capitan State Beach. Staff were friendly and helpful,

Sun Outdoors exceed my expectations. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, with a beautiful pool and playground. But the thing that stands out the most was the staff! The young people who were working during our stay were so very helpful! Polite and kind. It was refreshing. Thank you all so much!

This place is beautiful. Great trials to hike on. The beach is in eyes view. It was quiet until about 75 High School teenagers showed up. Otherwise, top notch. One negative is that the sites are very close together.
