HID Sun Retreats Gun Lake — Reviews

We reserved 2 vacation rentals: one for my husband and I, and one for our daughter’s family of 6. We knew little of the area, and somehow thought this camp was actually on Gun Lake. We all loved the pool and various camp activities (jumping pillow, kayaking, foam activity, etc.), but were disappointed that the beach was poorly maintained (much animal waste) & the lake was not safe to swim in. Our rentals could use some maintenance, too (stained carpet, worn decking), but we really did love them. They were supplied with kitchen essentials, linens, paper products, & bath items (like a hotel). My daughter’s 2 BR even had a screened-in porch! The park felt very safe, & even the seasonal ‘residents’ were welcoming.

Clean, safe, friendly environment. Security is great too--brought my little adventurer back to our campsite.

Clean campground. Sites had lots of green space. Plenty of activities for the family. Staff was friendly.

The facilities are closed during a weekday; Monday which is very inconvenient. Very clean and relaxing atmosphere during off-season. Lots are spaced very close together. We stayed in a cabin which was very nice and we would return again.
