The Dam Place General Store & Campground — Reviews

Very quiet and peaceful even though a block from the center of town where there is much to explore. Only criticism is more of an FYI to managers across the street at the store: Neither of the 2 codes you gave me for the porta potty worked.

We pulled into parking lot at Dam Place general store and greeted with, the campground is across the street. Told where to enter and that there were 3 spots, the best one by the Porta potties. Turned our motorhome around, went onto a gravel road, lined with low hanging trees and potholes. Found electric boxes and water pumps that marked sites, otherwise no markings of any kind. Took spot that appeared to be long enough for 33 ft RV and the most level. On gravel grass combination we barely fit. Website states "bathrooms, showers, internet access" Porta potties do not constitute as bathrooms. No showers and no internet! Certainly not a "deluxe" site or campground and definable not worth the fee charged. Did not feel secure at all, in a wooded area next to a burned out falling down building. Next time we will find a parking lot and be happier with our accommodation.

Small campground. 50/30 amp with water. Tight entrance for our 42 ft 5th wheel. Within walking distance to everything in town. We would stay there again.

Enjoyed our night there. Everything at the camping site was very clean, down to the porta potty. The pod was comfortable and cute. The ac was a plus! Great place for my wife and I to enjoy a little glamping getaway.

Was not as advertised. Spot did not have enough wastage for our RV. No sewer tie in either. We didn’t stay, we left and found another campsite. Would not recommend to anyone.

Perfect romantic get away. Minimal which was great. Customer service was great. Clean and comfortable. Will be returning soon.

The location was fine but weird. Right in the middle of down town and the spot was good and shaded with big trees but it's just on the side of the road with no signs. The camp ground and customer service was janky. The store and camp ground are separated by the main highway and a parking lot. Google took us in our big rv 2 block west of where the campground is and once we found it we didn't know we were there because there is no markings or sighs. There is no website, no campground maps, and no one answering the phone. I walked over to the store and was met with attitude like I was the biggest idiot that I couldn't figure out where to park. There is no lot numbers any where telling you where to park. Once we were parked the stay was fine but they really need to up their signs and customer service. We also had to help another rv find their spot because they had the same issue we had trying to figure it out.

Extremly clean and comfortable, quiet, peaceful, budget friendly, and beautiful. I love sitting on the deck in the morning watching the deer in the field.

Location, location, location! You can’t beat the location! Close to everything, so much to do! Shops, restaurants, and nature. The only reason it didn’t get five stars is because of the cosmetic improvements still needed. There is overgrowth, glass and trash a lot of places. This place has potential and can’t wait to see it grow. Regardless of the improvements still needed I would definitely recommend this place!

It was so close to main street Pawhuska. Super easy walk. I also felt safe.

We arrived after dark and it was very hard to find the camp sites. After a half hour we found them. I think their rates are too high

The campground was not finished as indicated on website. I paid the extra $10.00 to reserve a site that was not there. Only 2 RV sites were developed. We were the only campers. No one came by to check on us. I should get my $10.00 refunded. The RV site was close to Main St. with Pioneer Women store and restaurants.
