The Retreat at Redwood Shores — Reviews

I’m very sorry to say, this RV park was a total dump! Our view consisted of an old battered wood fence with tall weeds growing up against it and an old junk car rotting in front of it. Our immediate area was dead grass that hadn’t been taken care of in a long time. We stayed one night out of seven and ran away! We found a much nicer RV Park in Fortuna and stayed there for the rest of our stay.

I tried about 12 times to call and sent emails. I needed to change the date and nobody would call me back or email me back they charged my card anyway and we didn’t stay there. Very upsetting!!!

Great place to stay, good service, lots of activities especially for kids. Internet was decent.

Nice spaces, great amenities, and a very nice bathroom and showers.

The facility was good enough. But I specifically reserved a spot with electricity. There were no electrical hookups in my site. I then walked around and saw that none of the tent sites have electrical hookups. Went back to the web site and ALL of there tent sites say they have electric. I was only there for one night. By the time I realized this the office was closed. The office was not open when I left. FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!

The bathrooms were nice. Felt a little unsafe. The adds made the park look classy but in reality it was somewhat dumpy. There appeared to be full time residents there with very unsightly spaces. We arrived 30 minutes before the office closed for the night. They already had an envelope ready in the drop box for us n the event we arrived after the office closed. When we got there, she went to the drop box and retrieved our envelope. When I started asking questions, she quickly cut me off and said “everything you need to know in in the envelope “.

Easy to book online and call to get bathroom code. Didn’t appear to be anyone onsite. Bathrooms were a bit dirty and only one soap dispenser has hand soap. Grass was all dead. Had new name, seems like changed ownership recently. Could be great spot with some work.
