Wax Campground — Reviews

We had such an amazing time. Right by the water. We were able to fish and enjoy the water. Everything was perfect for both our families.

We had a lovely shaded site. Kind of hard to get to but worth it. Just wish it had full hookup

The price doubled from last year. But we were willing to give it a chance since it was supposed to have new amenities. It did have wi-fi, but that really didn't matter to me, I can get it on my phone. They did not have a beach, or a dog park, which is on the website. The amenities (soccer goals, corn hole etc.) were so far away that most people would need to drive to them. Why not put then in the common areas of the campground where everyone can easily enjoy them? Also we haven't been able to get any of our favorite spots. We like to be by the water on C loop, all of the spots were taken, but there were no people there. Long term camping should not get all of the prime spots. We have always loved Wax, it is our absolute favorite camp ground, but unfortunately we probably won't be back.

The online check in, gate code, strong WI-FI and peacefulness of the park made for a great weekend. This was our first stay with the new owners. We’ll be back.

The campground was so peaceful and quiet! We had a site by the lake and it was great for the kids to go down and swim and we could see them from the campsite. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and a quick walk.

Grass/weeds were taller within the graveled campsite than the lawn outside the campsite. Restrooms were dirty and still have wet floors from water leaks that have not been repaired. Hate the lock fee.

Sites are great, facilities are decent. Weekends are crazy busy, weekdays it is really quiet. Overall good campground, recommend visit during the week.

Beautiful campground. Helpful staff. Spacious private camp spots if you’re not by the water. If you want the water view then you’ll be a bit closer to your neighbor but have direct access to the water. Clean bathrooms and nice playgrounds for children. We’d stay again if in this area. Very dog friendly and that was important to us.

Grass wasn’t mowed and trees weren’t trimmed back around campsites. We stopped counting after we found 2 dozen ticks. Property was t hardly maintained at all.

This was our first time staying at this campground and we absolutely loved it. It was so quiet and peaceful. All of the sites were clean and level. The bath house was clean and conveniently located. The hosts were great and even offered activities for families, like movie night and popcorn/sno cones for the kids. We will definitely be coming back to Wax!

Campground was immaculate!! Staff was visible, efficient and very friendly! Our site was shaded, easy to get into and not on top of our neighbor. Although we were not water front, it was still beautiful! The entire campground was beautiful!! We loved it! And…fireflies were everywhere!!

We had an awesome stay! Everything was nice, clean, and beautiful. Management was super nice and attentive. We celebrated my son’s 3rd birthday while there and they even brought him a gift over!! Super sweet and we couldn’t thank them enough for such a great stay. We will definitely be back!
