Whispering Spruce Campground — Reviews

Toilets clean but in a terrible state of maintenance. Urinal closed, damaged tiles, new doors to mens, not finished properly. Hot water variable. Other amenities worked OK. Good size plots, lovely views if weather is better. Road noise a bit of an issue if spending time outside. Overall, overpriced.

They were very accommodating and the campground is very clean. We found the highway very noisy.

Easy in/easy out. Even though right off Hwy 2/Train tracks, the night was peaceful. The goats were so cute and friendly.

Good stopping point to do our 3 days of sightseeing.

Was good but the response when I hadn’t already checked in on line, before arriving was very poor by the guy who answered my call! Very disappointing in his customer support!

The views were spectacular, the site was in a good location, unfortunately the pup got full of sap. And the site being dirt meant a lot of clean up.

Everything was ok but we didn’t arrive back at the site until after seven and couldn’t get into the park. Gate was closed. Couldn’t contact anyone and eventually got in with someone else.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in Aug 2026. It was within 35-60 min of a lot of great sightseeing spots (Emerald Lake, Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, Waterfalls, Kicking Horse River, etc). It was a pretty quiet park, even though it had a lot of turnover. We had FHU with 30amp, it had onsite store, laundry, restrooms with showers. It was also close to downtown Golden for groceries/restaurants. We had no issues while staying and would stay here again.

Cause it was so peaceful and so friendly camp spot! I'd for sure will back to camp again
