The campsite chosen was as described. The staff were friendly, welcomed us and assisted in the trailer set-up. All the sites that we saw were in good condition. The public shower and restrooms were clean and hot water was plentiful. The Wi-Fi worked well the entire 4 day stay. The site is a good central point to visit Lake Michigan and the dunes.

Being that I stayed during the week, I was literally the only person there. Bathrooms and showers very clean. I think the campsite could have been cleaned before I put my tent up. There was a ton of acorns that I had to clean. The owner was very kind.

We clean sites and firepits after every stay, however acorns are part of the rustic charm in the Fall and we like to leave them for the squirrels! We would have been happy to loan you a rake or scoop to move the acorns from your tent area. Our Spring and Fall seasons are usually very quiet and a great time to enjoy a peaceful stay - especially mid-week!

    Discover the perfect getaway for creativity and relaxation during our Ladies Crafting Weekend. Camp with us or book a cabin. Bring your favorite craft project(s). We will carpool to the Silver Lake BBQ and Apple Fest Saturday morning. $25 per person includes dedicated table space, snacks, and continental breakfast each day. Saturday only pricing available for $15 per person. Space is limited.

  • Halloween Fun Weekend

    September 25 - September 27

    Get ready for a spook-tacular Halloween Fun Weekend! This is a guest-favorite annual event. Pack your favorite Halloween decor for our site decorating contest (PRIZES!). Trick or Treat for all ages from 6:30 - 7:30 PM Saturday evening - feel free to bring treats to pass out! FREE Pancake breakfast in the Lodge 8:30 - 10 AM Sunday. We will announce the site decorating contest winners at the Pancake Breakfast. Judging for the site decorating contest occurs during Trick or Treat.

  • End of Season Potluck

    October 10 - October 11, 2025

    As the camping season draws to a close, we invite you to join us for an unforgettable End of Season Potluck. This last social gathering for the season will take place at our historic Lodge.   We provide the plates and utensils.  You bring a dish to pass and your favorite beverage.  Outlets available for crockpots if needed. Whether you're a seasoned camper or new to the Whispering Surf family, the End of Season Potluck promises a heartwarming experience filled with laughter, gratitude, and appreciation for the beauty of nature and the bonds we've formed. Let's make this closing event an occasion to remember as we look forward to the adventures that await in the next camping season!
