Winding River Resort was the perfect spot to stay. It is so close to the entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park and to the town of Grand Lake. We had the pleasure of having a moose cow and her two calves walk through the small patch of woods behind our camper. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. They provided us with a hiking map of local trails and gave recommendations based on our ability level.

Satisfaction Rating

No notifications on the fire ban prior to tent camping there. Not really dog friendly. I couldn't even use the restroom with my pup. Very noisy location selected by the staff between a busy double drive, RVs and all the action. No shade and a small space. Not at all ideal for tent camping.
