Woodland Park Campground — Reviews

The park and facilities are very clean. You can't beat the location on the banks of Lake Superior. We will definitely stay again.

We had 2 sites and were plesantly surprised to find we were not far from the bathrooms. The map online is a little off or you have changed a few things. All bathrooms were clean and the new ones were very nice! We had issues one night w music and loud voices until 130 am( at a site next to us). Being in a tent we heard them very well....and then a few times with those staying along the street( rustic) running hoses and electric on to our 2 sites. Seems unfair they pay less for their sites and use others connections. Obviously they had done it before. They come in after hours and leave before they were noticed. Nothing you can do about it. This is our 3rd year getting a site for at least a week. We love being so close to the beautiful Big Lake.. going out each night to watch the sunset and look for Yooperlights. Hope to return again next year.

We loved the campground and the beach. Some of the sites were tight, such as 86-A. Our 40 ft Class A could not fit in it and I had to trade with my sister-in-law which did not work out too good since the lot was nothing but dirt.

Beautiful piece of heaven on Lake Superior

The park was awesome but the site we booked did not have water on it as advertised. There was a faucet for us but it was about 50 feet away across a walking path. Even if we had enough hose we would not have felt comfortable leaving a tripping hazard for people to possibly get injured on. So we filled up our water tanks and had to ration our use of water until a neighbor let us hook up to his faucet with a splitter. When we told the office and maintenance crew of our concern they did offer some alternative sites but they were not as ideally located as the site we had booked. Just wish this lack of water on the site would have been mentioned online so that we could have checked other sites when booking last winter.

My stay at Woodland Park was fantastic! I loved the site I booked—it was so nice and shaded, and close to all the amenities your park offers. I do have a few suggestions, purely from a professional perspective, as I'm often focused on reducing liability in the properties I visit. Below are a few ideas that might help make things a bit safer and cleaner: 1. Utility Boxes and Posts: Consider adding small reflectors to the green utility boxes and the white posts lining the common area walkway between the sites. Even if placing a reflector on every post isn’t feasible, perhaps a pattern like every other post would work. It got pretty dark at night, and this would be helpful for those making late-night trips to the bathroom or for anyone who may have had a bit too much fun at the bar or a few sites down. 😉 2. Garbage Can by the Wash Sink: Adding a garbage can next to the common area wash sink with a sign requesting visitors to clean the drain after washing their dishes could help keep the area tidy and pleasant for everyone. These are just a few observations that could make things a little safer and more convenient. Of course, they are not necessities. I also want to compliment your staff—every park employee I encountered was friendly and helpful. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

New north end bath house is modernized with larger shower stalls & clean bathrooms! Thank you Burt TWP for the investment in everyone’s camping experience. And of course the views of Lake Superior are simply stunning.

Great campground! Clean, beautiful view, awesome beach, great playgrounds for younger kids, friendly people, close to town, a fun place!

The camp was super clean including the bathrooms and the nice hot showers. Camp host and staff are very friendly and helpful. This place is 10 out of 10.
