YMCA of the Highland Lakes at Galloway Hammond RV Park — Reviews

Hornets in the electric boxes and ants in the water faucet housings. 3 of the ones we checked. Good thing we had spray.

RV park is infested with feral cats running around. They are “marking”all over stuff and it smells awful.

This park has the potential to be a nice park but unfortunately I encountered the following: * the grass areas needed to be mowed * there were long cable wires hanging over the pedestal or just laying on the ground *several 2x4 wood blocks were laying around the electrical box. *the electrical box had dirt built up inside along with spider webs *the water spigot is in a hole in the ground and covered with a green covered. Being ground level makes connecting your water hose(s) difficult to attach *parking pads are dirt very difficult to level your rig On a previous occasion I had attempted to make a reservation via calling the YMCA and was advised it was first come first serve and a deposit was not required. So on this occasion I drove in and selected a site. I went into the YMCA to pay for the nights I would be staying and much to my surprise I was advised to do so through campspot.com. The price was $50 per night but my bigger surprise was when I checked out online there was a $50 admin. fee charge! In my many stays in RV parks throughout the United States I have never been charged an admin fee. Throughout my stay I never saw or spoke to anyone regarding the park or my stay.
