About
Big Manitou Regional Park, located in Marsden, Saskatchewan, offers a unique and serene escape, named after the fascinating Big Manitou Lake. This saltwater lake, similar to the Caspian and Dead Seas, allows visitors to float effortlessly in its saline waters, while also providing benefits for skin care. Surrounding the lake are the stunning Manitou Sand Hills, an expansive 420 sq. km of Crown grazing land perfect for hiking and exploring. The lake is also an important habitat for a variety of bird species, including the piping plover and red-necked phalarope. Marsden gained attention in 2008 when the Buzzard Coulee meteorite showered over 1,000 fragments across the area, making it a prime spot for meteorite hunters. If you're lucky, you might discover a piece of this famous meteorite. Come experience the beauty and history of Big Manitou Regional Park—plan your visit today!
