Black Beach Campground — Reviews

Extremely nice showers for campground. Easy access to beaches. Nice amount of room in each space.

It would have been nice to have more bathroom facilities and maybe a bit cleaner. It also would have been nice to have enforcement of no parking zones of the road going to Black Beach to better allow those using the camp a safer and more accessible time.

Kudos to the maintenance people. I believe these were the cleanest bathrooms, showers, out houses we’ve ever experienced in a public facility. Congratulations on making such a wonderful presentation for the public.

Site was good, very spacious and easily accessible for all hookups. Very close to lake and swimming. Communication was never answered, even though they say “email any time with questions” We wouldn’t email if we didn’t have a need for an answer, point lost :(

Nice, clean, convenient campsite easily accesible from the main road. Bathrooms typical for campsite, thankfully have shower stalls. The beach is a little ways away to walk, but otherwise easy to get to (they do offer a golf cart shuttle some hours of the day).

Clean, well kept campground. Great access to the lake. People observed quiet hours

Great location! Somewhat leveled sites with gravel. Full hookups with plenty of water pressure. Sites are not close together. We stayed in Site 37. Beach is a little down the road. There is no view of the beach or Lake Superior from the campground. No ice in the campground. Good half point on the North Shore to see all the waterfalls and lighthouses.

Clean camp ground, close to lots of things to do!

Beautiful facility very well maintained.

The park was clean and the access to the beach was good. We didn't need to use the facilities here nor did we see or speak to any staff, so I can't comment on those. This was a good location for us to explore the North Shore of Lake Superior.

You have no useful internet and shouldn’t advertise that you do. It was impossible to keep a signal and thus made camping there in the rain difficult because I could t do my work.

The site was large, grounds were manicured and the bathrooms were spotless. We were able to go directly to our site. The beach and surrounding areas were just beautiful. We lucked out and had fabulous weather.

The campground was very clean and such a nice place to stay! The showers and bathrooms were also very nice. I loved the quick drive to Black Beach and how helpful the direction signs were!

Our campsite was completely underwater. Not a dry spot other than the area we had to park our camper and truck on. Our tent was on the side of a hill in a puddle of water still. I walked the campground and we were the only one that had standing water and at least 3 sites were not occupied (look like the people left early) but showed that they were booked online. I would have moved if given the choice. The lights by the vault toilets and the billboard are too bright,

Nice size spots, great location for north or south sightseeing and exploring.

The park is beautiful! Location is perfect.
