Brazos River Hideout — Reviews

The surroundings are beautiful. very secluded and quiet. The road going into the campsites, need some repair. Our RV tires got stuck in one of the ruts. The restrooms needed attention. They were dirty and no toilet paper available. The electricity was unstable if the temperature got above 90° you had to go and reset the breaker box. lots of beautiful trees, but also needed attention to the dead limbs needing to be cut off. we will go back just not stay inside 22 until the trees are trimmed.

We had a wonderful for our first outing with our new camper. Nice place great location. Facility clean. Right on the river. Can’t wait for next trip.

This was an absolute gem! We came to watch the solar eclipse and got one of the tent sites and our stay could not have been more perfect. The owner's were incredibly attentive and made you feel like family while you were there. The place was absolutely beautiful in the spring as well with all of the wild flowers. 10/10 would recommend!!! It was an absolutely perfect trip and the easy access to the River was beautiful!

Terrific management and camping was excellent!

Great place. My only complaint is that after quiet time hours, several people didn’t abide by it. In campsite 30, vehicles lights shined into our tent all throughout the night as they traveled to and from camp. I wish that all the tent sights were along the backside of the camp to avoid this type of thing from happening. Overall, not a bad place to camp.

Beautiful place. Plenty of space between camp sites. Great access to the Brazos River! Very clean and quite. No sewer but they offer a dump service where they bring a trailer to empty the hold tank. Fill your onboard water tank as only non potable water available at camp site.

Nice, quiet relaxing campground. Only down fall was all the stickers in the grass got all inside camper.

The campground was nice and quiet, and we had a spot right on the river, which we were able to walk down to. We heard owls and coyotes each night by the campfire and saw lots of stars. Pads are flat, there are trees that provide shade, and there are great views. There is really not a bad site in the campground. The issue I had was with the bathrooms. There are two individual bathrooms with showers, which were very clean when we arrived Friday. By Saturday, they were no longer clean and there was no toilet paper. There was grass and mud all over the floor and inside the shower. Monday morning someone arrived with more toilet paper but not to clean the restroom. Signs say please clean up after yourself, but unfortunately people don’t. Maybe a broom left in the bathroom might help (attached in some way if you are afraid of theft) and a rug outside the door so people could wipe their feet before entering. A bench to put your clothes, etc on would be nice since the floor is dirty. We had a great stay anyway but feel these items should be addressed.

The staff was very helpful and more than willing to help lend a hand. They were very accommodating and the entire place was very clean and well kept. If your looking for a quiet place to recharge I highly recommend the Hideout

The campsite was beautiful. We were right by the river. It was quiet and the other campers were nice. Our hosts were wonderful! They brought us firewood. We will camp here again!

It’s a really neat spot, but cockleburs all over (in the poor dogs feet) and no potable water keeps this from a five star. Great river access, very quiet campground at least this time of year. We enjoyed our stay!
