Buffalo Springs Lake Campground — Reviews

We left after only one day when we were supposed to stay for 3 days. Too crowded spots were almost on top of each other. No picnic table and everyone there was blaring Tejano music and driving atv’s late through the night. Not my ideal Camping place!

They say there is quiet time at 10pm but it is not at all enforced. We couldn't get to sleep for all the loud music.

Nice get away!

For the $40 per night and $12 per day entry fees. We should not have to listen to off-road vehicles driving thru the camp ground at a high rate of speed all evening. There should be no off road course traffic with kids driving these vehicle thru the campground with small children running around in the campground. Also fire rings need to be placed in every site . There were 3 piles of ash pits on our site. This is kinda of trashy looking. .. With these high entry fees, this money could be spent on upgrading the camp sites. Camp host were very kind and friendly. We wished we would have seen more police presence in the campground to slow down the ATV traffic in the campground.

My tent site was a little hard to find. I think the person at the check-in should make an X approximately where a person's site is located. I would have also liked a privacy curtain fir the shower. The shower/restrooms were clean. Security routinely patrol, which i liked.

We love camping at Buffalo Springs Lake. It’s our go to stay every time we visit Lubbock. Campground A and B have excellent shade trees, and level sites. The campgrounds are family oriented; safe and comfortable. We love the trails, and paddling on the lake is super. It’s a great value given the amenities and location close to Lubbock (15 min).

Nice and peaceful...

Entry staff were great, even helped us shift camping spots when our original site was on a rocky slope. Tent spot was good, near the water, and we lucked out in getting a site with an awning. Bathrooms near campsite were clean and in good shape. Only major issue we had was lack of rule enforcement by staff/security regarding burn ban and quiet hours..neighbor kept us up until 3am with music.

First off we paid for a camp site, then we still had to pay for the two night stay. So over all about 160 dollars. We couldn't have a fire, or no second tent at our camp sight we paid for. The sheriff and camp people were in constant rotation around the lake. We felt at no peace the entire time we were there, feeling watched or questing if we were doing something wrong. They stopped twice at our sight and told us to take down one of our tents, and again that no fires were allowed. So needless to say we would have been better off camping in our back yard.

I had a good time but during the night. Some people don’t know how to follow the rules and turn everything off by 10. Also the shower in the restroom needs a curtain or at least have the table moved closer but it’s nailed to the wall. There wasn’t a lot of privacy at all!
