The building housing the showers basically needs to be demolished. Dark, little air flow and never properly cleaned. Toilet paper in the troughs of the shower. Dump station within a few yards of the showers read “do not rinse feet with this water.” Office, bathrooms and dump station occupy basically waterfront sites at far back of camp. Pit toilets near entrance appear to only get cleaned at the beginning of the season. We forfeited our last nights stay to move on and 2 other campers near us did the same thing. This campground needs an overhaul since it’s a fantastic location on the water. We would never stay here again and will share that with other campers. We camped for over a month in Michigan in state, national, county and private parks. Buttersville was by far the worst.

The bathrooms are not very clean and the showers have spiders and webs inside and out. Not much to do except go to the beach.

I enjoyed this campground so much we will return next summer. Showers and Bathroom always clean. The short walk & down the stairs to the crystal clear lake and beautifully swept beach. The view of the lake while having our morning coffee was just what we needed. I will say it was pretty noisy after quiet hours but it was a fully booked weekend so understandable.

Cleanliness of the bathrooms needs improvement. Your stafff not knowing if the spigots were portable is a concern. Pet waste was full the whole time we stayed there, never emptied. No paper towels in the men’s room & dryer didn’t work. Large campsites was nice Overlooking the lake was very nice

Clean campground and great for families, gets quiet early enough for little ones to go to sleep at a decent time, being right on Lake Michigan was a huge plus for our kids as it didn’t require a drive anywhere to go down to the water we could go do other things and then finish the day out on the beach. It is about 80 steps down a set of stairs to get to the beach but it is easier than going up and down a sand dune hill. There’s an area to wash your feet at the top of the hill. The flushable bathrooms and showers were always fairly clean. The outhouse style at the north end were fine for emergencies but in the lol we didn’t have to rely on them for the entirety of the stay. Nice playground for the kids too and a short drive from ludington. Able to watch the badger come and go from the campground also. We have stayed here twice and would have no issue staying again.

This was a very nice family campground. The sites are generous in size and there are plenty of trees to keep that rustic, outdoor experience feeling as it should be when camping. The beach is right at the edge of the park with plenty of places to watch a beautiful sunset. Noting that there is a flight of stairs to descend to get to the beach but once you reach it, you're treated with a beautiful, unpopulated stretch of sand that is the noted gem of the west side of Michigan.
