Amazing view, quiet, clean, spacious, also if wood is needed the number that is provided at check-in was quick, easy to order and delivered right to our camp site. I can't wait to book my next trip

Ran out of TP in the outhouse, other wise everything else was 100%

Quiet and private. Well maintained.

It's an area and camp site that has a lot of promise when you see it. However, there was so many issues: 1). The site wasn't clean - glass, water bottles, water caps, broken glass, glass bottles, old fishing lures/hooks, bottle caps, etc. For a place that has a $25 penalty for leaving trash on site, they don't manage or clean it 2) It appears that the public come and use the area for free to include fishing and driving in drinking in the evening. Since no one is on site, there's nothing policing those that come without paying 3) The. second night a large. group of adolescence and young adults had massive party in the pavilion, which was very loud significantly past quiet hours into midnight and kept me from being able to sleep; the group broke every rule of the camp site (i.e. drinking, beer, pot, boating in water (day and night), and left garbage all over the place, yelling crude language and being disrespectful of the campers 4). At 1030 in. the night, a family of mostly non-english speaker adult and kids walked into our campsite and wanted to camp behind us without having a reservation and wanting to camp anywhere in the woods; it took. a bit of convincing to get them to go to the other side of the lake; it appears that folks come here and do whatever they want and camp for free 5). Our campsite was obviously being used by local kids to party and perform illegal substance abuse; After. witnessing the mayhem. on. a Saturday night, it's obvious that this place folks do whatever they want and. don't respect the rules; Disappointing stay, not recommmended .

Absolutely amazing place to camp. Such a beautiful place very quite and peaceful perfect for a little relaxing in nature. Lots of trails to explore.

Love coming here. During the week especially for a less crowded experience.

The overall landscape was nice. Lots of wildlife to enjoy. And our camp site (#9) was pleasantly private. However it was difficult to do much near the campsite, as we suspect the shelter had a nest of yellow jacket bees, which my boyfriend is allergic to. There were so many bees that they bothered us even after dark. I ended up tending the fire and cooking dinner myself while my bf waited in the tent, the only escape from the bees. Also as others have mentioned there was broken glass all over the ground. In the spirit of "leave it better than you found it" I brought my grabber tool and cleaned some of it up, but it would've taken hours to get all of it.

Accommodating but lake didn't fit picture

It was a great camp site if you love rustic camping. Very quiet (except for some noisy campers on 2 separate occasions), beautiful. If you don't like bugs (especially spiders) or frogs, don't come here. They are all over. I love nature and am not afraid of either. I did however get bitten by mosquitos and what appears to be spider bites, but that is because we got there just before sundown and I am prone to mosquitos. I also didn't spray myself immediately with bug spray so thats on me. The lean to does need a paint job as there is markings all over it. but it was sturdy and covered our gear with plenty of room to spare. The fire pit was perfect and the grill worked perfectly. They also provide a bucket for you to put water in to turn off your fires and a fire ash can to put your ashes in from the grill. There was also a small shovel which we used for clearing the ash and moving the fire wood around in the pit. Our camp site was secluded and we only came across 2 different hikers during the day the whole weekend. We were practically alone. The latrine was a long distance away and so was the parking so those were the only 2 things that were less convenient but we managed. If you forget anything, Quickcheck is only 6 miles away and Walmart is 30 minutes away. I recommend this camp site to the more adventurous types.

It was perfectly described, and very easy to get too (I traveled from a considerable distance, and had zero issues with navigation) however upon arrival (after dark) it was EXTREMELY difficult to find our site… there were very vague signs designating areas, but no clear roadways/paths, and no other travelers around to narrow our search a little… we ended up finding a peaceful spot, at which we considered to be our site/not intruding anyone else’s space.. BUT? Again, very unclear as to whether or not we were even in the right area… I thought the grounds were beautiful, the sights were pleasant, and the wildlife wasn’t invasive. I will travel again for sure.

Overall good experience. Only complaint is the park trails run through the literal middle of peoples campsites and can be walked relatively quickly. Great for a get away/hang by a fire. Clean site/nice people.
