Nice quiet campground, the hosts were super nice.

Very nice and quiet campground. The rv spots were spaced where you are not parked right next to each other. Seemed to make it more private. The lake is beautiful there with a nice backdrop. The park was clean as well. Overall, it was a great experience. Close to to area attractions made it nice too.

The Park has some very nice sites that are shaded, a great swimming area, and 2 public restrooms. The area is know by locals for boat launching and swimming, so the traffic in the park and surrounding area is non stop and sometimes very loud. The cell reception is pretty bad, but the area has some nice scenery and friendly staff. For the value, I would return if I'm back in the area.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The campground was very clean and peaceful. Restrooms were cleaned often and my group is looking forward to returning again this year.

We stay at this campground multiple times a year and have for the past several years. However it seems to be going down hill. Management can’t seem to agree on rules or enforce them the same from stay to stay or year to year. Last year we were allowed to bring in our LSV street legal golf cart. And we were told prior to arrival it was allowed again this year. Only to be told upon arrival we could not use it. And that the GM who contact us to discuss it further, which never happened. Trucks flying thru the camping area which is a huge deal when you have twins that are 2. This has been one of our favorite places but not sure that’s the case anymore.

The only issue I had was the bathrooms, they could really use a fix up, and the day use people destroyed the one by the beach. If I was the owner I’d start charging at least $5 a car for repairs and damages. I love this camp ground but definitely need more showers, there was always a line and if the campers went in the day use one we would get cussed out or they would make rude comments bc we wanted to shower. With that said that is my only issue, I love the guy and his wife that camp host every summer, we travel from Oklahoma and have stayed at this camp ground for a week every summer and definitely want to come back next year but the only thing that our group (2 sites) complained about was the bathrooms and showers and the people in the lines outside the doors don’t look happy having to wait.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds, my only complaint is the rest rooms, the day area people make such a mess in there and not enough showers but the people who run the place , they all wonderful hosts . See you all next year

The stay was ok but our site #45 was not really waterfront. It was across from the boat ramp with a small canal of water that separated the campsite from the public boat ramp. No real view of the lake, only trees and bushes. For some reason many trees have been cut down around the campground creating no shade in our site and many others. When the reservations are made it does not indicate each site as “sunny”, “partial shade” or “shaded”as most reservation systems do. Our site had no shade making it too hot to site outside. The shower house across from our site has a sign on it “For Campers Only” but the people from the public boat ramp were constantly driving/ walking up to it and using it instead of using the one that was at the picnic area designated for the public. This was not enforced by the campground host staff. We left a day early as it was just too hot with no shade and did not want to be sharing the shower house/ restroom and boat ramp with the public who paid nothing to use it. Weekends were very busy and a mess at the boat ramp.

Wife and myself had a very restful and enjoyable stay this beautiful campground that is well maintained.

Very nice, picturesque campground. We had site 34...gorgeous view. However, it has a very steep drive. Would not recommend anything larger than a 25' TT. A fisherman's dream- we don't fish but saw several fishing. There is another small campground on the other side of the dam. We prefer the Headwaters campground. Wonderful, friendly Camp Hosts!

Always enjoy Douglas Headwater Campground. April and Chuck are knowledgeable and professional. Campground is clean, well maintained, and has spacious sites with fantastic view of the lake!
