Douglas Tailwater Campground — Reviews

Great site! Very friendly staff. Our bathroom wasn’t quite kept up. The wood bundles didn’t burn well. Both minor things.

We had site 3 and it was a beautiful site of the river. It was very relaxing and we really enjoyed our stay.

The campground is always clean and safe, staff goes out of their way to make sure everyone has a great time! I can’t say enough about how well this campground is for the money!

The staff was great very nice! We were in spot 22 also nice area, but the spot could have been a little more accessible to level our camper had to work quite a bit but still had to camp with our camper pretty not level

Site 24 was very unlevel. Had a hard time levelingmy trailer up. Otherwise I really like this park it’s clean. The bathrooms are clean. Showers are clean. Managers are very nice and accommodating and very helpful. It’s a pretty quiet part during the week.

Our campsite was right on the French Broad River and it was beautiful and so relaxing to sit by. There was a red cardinal that came to visit every day we were there along with some squirrels and other birds. One morning an eagle flew overhead. The bathrooms were very clean and Mike and Mandy were exceptional hosts. We would definitely come back to stay again.

I would have given a 5 star but the site was one of the few that was significantly out of level in both directions making it difficult to set up.

Road noise from bridge and sirens from dam were a bit much for me. The eagles and staff were awesome!!

The camp hosts are very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are always very clean. The snow flurries was an added bonus this trip.
