Just two miles west of Staples sits the beautiful Dower Lake Recreation Area. This 54-acre park is perfect for both the outdoor enthusiast and the fair-weather explorer alike. With a softball complex, 9-hole disc golf course, basketball court, swimming beach, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, picnic shelter, picnic areas, public lake access and an abundance of nature, you are sure to find something fun to do. There are even a few geocaches hidden in and around the park for a quick treasure hunt for kids of all ages. And don’t forget to try your hand at fishing on Minnesota’s longest fishing pier!     Site 1 to 10 have 15-20 amp electric and Sites 11-20 have 20-50 amp electric. These are dirt pads without ability to pull through. They have no water or sewer hook up. The campground does have a spigot on the shower house for campers to fill their tank and a dump station available for guests. Enjoy the beach, playground, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, lake, fishing off the longest pier in Minnesota or play disc golf. Each campsite comes with a picnic table, fire ring and level pad. Check in time 1 pm & Checkout is at 11 am.

    Family friendly and no shortage of wood for camp fires. The playground, swimming area, and fishing pier were all well-utilized during our stay. Thank you DLRA!

    Would have been helpful to know about the town celebration. Trains blowing horns multiple times throughout the night. Bathroom signs were unprofessional. Need better verbiage.

    It was a good stay I would say a suggestion would be to have garbage cans maybe not at each site but maybe down each row? And there was also I believe a homeless person that kept coming over to the shelter that we had rented and paid money for, she kept interrupting and wanted to charge her phones. She was rude when we told her to wait till after we are all done. Very comfortable and nice area. Would definitely come back and stay.
