Downata Hot Springs, located in Downey, Idaho, is a 100-year-old hot springs ranch just two hours north of Salt Lake City and 40 minutes south of Pocatello. The campground offers a variety of accommodations, including RV sites with water and power hookups, tent sites, group sites, and basic sites. Guests can also enjoy unique lodging options like Conestoga Wagons, cabins, house rentals, yurts, rustic cabins, and tepees. The water facilities, which are an additional charge, include a recreation pool and soaking pools fed by naturally hot springs, as well as seasonal water slides and a water playground. These sites where built in 1960 and small sites. These sites include 30-amp power hookups with water. Add-on tents are unavailable in these sites and fire rings are NOT included. Fires are not allowed in these sites.
These sites will accommodate up to 32 feet, and one tent per site can be added for a tent fee. Register and pay the tent fee upon arrival. The tent fee includes a vehicle pass. RV 17 has a fire ring, but it is limited to a very small tent.
These sites have 50/30/20 amp hookups with a table and fire ring. Water is available to fill up your RV, but not on the actual site. Sewer dump available in Downey.
Most of these sites are on grass and have a fire ring. These sites are in our Campground B. Water may be added to your RV tank upon arrival at the camp host spigot. Tents cannot be added to these sites due to their size. We recommend renting the site next to your site so you have room to enjoy your stay.
Our basic site includes a fire pit and table. Most of these sites will accommodate one extra tent for an additional fee, depending on the size of the tent or RV. Register and pay for additional tent upon arrival. The extra tent fee includes the vehicle pass.
These sites have a fire ring and table. Tents may be added with a fee and pitched behind the white fence in the grass parking lot. You can fill your RV with water from the water spigots, but not on site. Sewer dump in Downey, 4 miles away.
Sites #20 and #39 will accommodate up to two tents with the additional tent fee. Register and pay for tents upon arrival. The tent fee includes a vehicle permit.
These sites do not have space for a fire ring or tents. The sites have 50/30/20 amp available with water. No sewer is available onsite, but there is a dump in Downey, 4 miles away.
This group area features a pavilion that accommodates 24 people and is equipped with 110 outlets and lighting. Appliances are not allowed to be plugged into this pavilion. Two 30-amp RV hookups are provided, along with accommodations for up to two tents. No water is available at this site, but it can be found nearby. Additional tents are not allowed, but three tent sites are located and available to reserve next to the group area. The Cowboy hangout is also nearby to reserve.
New in 2025. This group area features a pavilion that accommodates 48 people. This area accommodates up to six tents and six vehicles. Up to two additional tents may be added for an additional tent fee upon arrival, which includes a vehicle pass. This is a new area located across from the main office. RV Sites 99 to 102 are near and can be rented separately if needed and available. Separate fees apply.
This group area features a pavilion that accommodates 24 people, equipped with a 110 outlet and lighting. Appliances are not allowed to be plugged into this pavilion. Two 30-amp RV hookups are provided, along with accommodations for up to four tents. No water is available at this site, but it can be found nearby. Up to two additional tents may be added for an additional tent fee upon arrival, which includes a vehicle pass.
This is our largest group area. It has six 50-amp hookups, four tent spaces, and a pavilion with power, a fire ring, a flag pole, and a water spigot. The site includes only 10 vehicles, including RVs, but additional tents and vehicles can be added upon check-in for a tent or extra vehicle fee. Tepees, basic sites, and other hookup sites in the area are not included in the group area but may be reserved.
Tepees sleep four people and have four cots without bedding in each tepee. A 20-amp electrical outlet for charging cell phones and lighting is included. NO AC units, heaters, or appliances are allowed. Tepees have a concrete floor and only a flap door. Lock valuables in your vehicles.
Our small yurts include a queen bed and a futon, so they can accommodate up to two adults and two children. Inside the yurt, there is a small table, TV, microwave, water cooler, AC,, and Heat. Outside,, there is a table and fire ring. Another small yurt is located beside the lodging yurts. It is a bathroom yurt with two sides. One bathroom is handicap accessible and has a shower. These are common restrooms for the yurt guests only. No pets or smoking allowed.
Our small cabins include a queen bed and a futon with bedding, so they accommodate up to two adults and two children. Inside the cabin, there is a TV, DVD player, Microwave, and Bathroom with a shower; Outside is located a fire ring and table. No tents are allowed to be added on these sites, but they are close to tenting areas. No smoking or pets inside the cabin.
Wagons 1, 2, and 3 accommodate up to 4 guests and include a king-size bed and a bunk bed with bedding. There is an inside table and chair with a microwave and water cooler. The outside area includes a fire ring and a table. Porta potties are currently close to the wagons, or guests have access to the campground bathrooms that are within walking distance. Wifi with a fee is available. NO smoking or No pets allowed. A common outside gazebo is available for wagon guests and includes a gas grill.
Wagons 4, 5, and 6 accommodate up to 6 guests and include a king-size bed and two bunk beds with bedding. There is a microwave and water cooler inside. The outside area includes a fire ring and a table. Porta potties are currently located near the wagons, or guests have access to the campground bathrooms, which are within walking distance. Wifi with a fee is available. NO smoking or No pets allowed. A common gazebo is available for the wagon guests to use with a gas grill.
Our medium cabins sleep up to six people. Includes a queen-size bed, a futon sleeper, and two twin beds in the loft bedding included. A small equipped kitchen has a stove, fridge, table and chairs, microwave, coffeemaker, pots and pans, and dishes. The medium cabins have a shower/tub combination in the bathroom. Outside is a picnic table and fire ring. Medium Cabins have AC & heating. TV with DVD player and Wifi is available to add on to your stay.
The Cowboy Hangout has eight cots without bedding, a table, and a small fridge inside. Outside, there is a picnic table and fire ring.
The Deer Den is our smallest lodging unit. Only two guests and one pet are allowed. The unit includes a fold-out bed, TV, DVD player, small fridge, microwave, and Wi-Fi, which are available to purchase. Outside is a fire ring and table.
Our RV trailer is located near our tenting area. The RV sleeps up to two people and has a bathroom with a shower, a kitchen with dishes, a TV, a DVD player, AC, and heat is also included. Outside, there is a deck with furniture, a fire ring, and an outside table.
The Bunk House sleeps up to six people. One bedroom with a full-size bed, Master bedroom with a queen bed and a futon couch in the front room. No smoking or pets are allowed in the Bunk House. We do allow up to two tents to be pitched on the lawn, but the tent fee is charged. Register and pay for the tents upon arrival. The tent includes one vehicle. One vehicle is allowed at the Bunk House, but an additional tent may be added for a fee. Wifi is available for a one-time per stay charge.
The Ranch House sleeps up to twelve guests. 2 queen size beds, 3 full size and a queen sofa sleeper in the front room with bedding. The Ranch House comes with a full kitchen with stove, microwave and fridge. Dishes, pots and pans, pancake electric griddle and coffee maker. Outside is two picnic tables, gas grill and fire ring. There is a TV, DVD player and Dishnet TV. Wifi is available with a fee upon check in. NO pets or No smoking. Tents can be added to stay on the lawn but a tenting fee is charged. Register and pay for tents upon check in. Two 50/20 amp with water RV sites available. Reservations required for the RH RV sites. A credit card is required for incidentals and cleaning fee if cleaning requirements are not met upon check out. Wifi access add on is $10 for the stay
The Hadley House sleeps up to 18 people. 1 king size bed, 2 full size, 4 twin beds and 8 sofa sleepers with bedding. Full kitchen with dishes, stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, large griddle. Banquet table and inside folding chairs for guests use. Two bathrooms with showers and tub combo. Outside three picnic tables, gas grill and fire ring. General house cleaning is required for a cleaning fee will be charged. A credit card is required for incidentals. Large great room has a large tv and sound system with a DVD player and Dishnet. Wifi is available for $10 per stay. NO PETS or NO SMOKING. One 30 amp only RV hookup is available. Add on RV upon arrival. Fee charged.
These tent sites are our basic tent sites. No power available. The site includes a picnic table and fire ring. One additional tent may be added to the site for an additional tent fee. Pay for additional tents upon arrival. The tent fee includes the vehicle permit. Tents T1 to T6 are new tent areas for 2025. You can park next to your tent in these new sites.
Our tent site with power includes a fire pit and table. A 110 outlet is located on the bench. or post. Microwaves, refrigerators, freezers, and other appliances are not permitted. Minimal power available. 20 amp maximum. Most of these sites will accommodate an additional tent for an extra fee, depending on the size of the tent. Group area #2 accommodates up to 5 tents. Has tables and a fire ring. No power or RVs are allowed. Up to one additional tent with an additional tent fee is allowed. Register and pay for the tent upon arrival.
Up to four tents are allowed in this Group Area. No RVS, Trailers, Vans, or Vehicles are allowed in this area. One additional tent is allowed with an additional tent fee. Pay and register for additional tents upon arrival. One power outlet is available for electrical needs. Only a 20 amp outlet. No appliances, AC, or heaters allowed
This group area features a pavilion that accommodates 32 people, equipped with one 110 outlets and lighting. Appliances are not allowed to be plugged into this pavilion. NO RV's allowed. Five vehicle passes will be issued for this area. For vehicles beyond 5, an additional vehicle charge will be applied and billed upon arrival. One additional tent may be added to this area for the tent fee, which includes a vehicle pass.
