Campground Terms & Conditions

1. General

  • These Terms & Conditions apply to all reservations, seasonal agreements, guests, visitors, and use of facilities at the campground (“Campground”).

  • By making a reservation, entering the Campground, or occupying a campsite, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions and all posted campground rules.

  • The Campground reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.

2. Recreational Use Only (No Tenancy)

  • All campsites—daily, short‑term, and seasonal—are provided for recreational camping purposes only.

  • No landlord‑tenant relationship is created.

  • Permanent residence, mailing address use, or representation of the site as a primary residence is strictly prohibited.

  • The camper must be 18 years of age or older to enter into an agreement.

3. Reservations & Payments

  • A valid reservation or seasonal agreement is required to occupy a campsite.

  • Fees must be paid in accordance with the rate and payment schedule selected.

  • All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and subject to applicable taxes.

  • One camping unit (RV, trailer, or tent) per site unless approved by management.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

  • If you need to cancel your reservation, we require a minimum of 72 hours notice (THIS IS A 24hr CLOCK THAT STARTS AT MIDNIGHT AND IS AUTOMATIC). Cancellation notices in advance of the 72 hour window will receive a full refund, minus a 3% admin fee. Cancellation notices less than 72 hours at midnight will receive no refund. No-shows will be charged the full amount of their reservation.

  • Refunds will be issued to the original method of payment, and may take 5-10 business days to fully process.

  • Please Note: Unfortunately, if Drayton Valley Campground is unable to open due to government restrictions, including but not limited: Pandemic, fire, traffic delays, highway closures, accidents, illness, accidentally unintentionally reserving incorrect dates, zombie apocalypse, Sasquatch sighting, or any other event that could be considered an "acts of God" a refund will not be issued. We urge you to consider this matter seriously before accepting these terms. If less than 72 hours, our cancellation policy applies.

  • We want to build memories with as many campers as possible. Our reservation system will optimize campsites to allow as many campers as possible to enjoy our amenities and services. If you wish to ensure the site you booked, we now offer lock-in services for your campsite, so when the reservation system optimizes, you will not be moved.

4. Check‑In & Check‑Out

  • Short‑Term & Overnight Camping

  • Check‑in: 3:00 PM

  • Check‑out: 11:00 AM

  • Late departures without approval may result in additional charges.

  • Seasonal Camping

  • Initial seasonal check‑in: 3:00 PM on the approved start date

  • Final seasonal check‑out: 11:00 AM on the final day of the camping season

  • All personal property, trailers, RVs, structures, and belongings must be removed by the seasonal check‑out deadline unless written storage approval has been granted.

5. Seasonal Camping Terms

  • A seasonal campsite is rented for the duration of the campground’s operating season, typically from May 1 to October 12.

  • Seasonal fees are payable in full or per the approved payment plan.

  • Seasonal fees are non‑refundable, except at the Campground’s discretion.

  • Missed or late payments may result in termination of the seasonal agreement and removal of equipment at the camper’s expense.

  • Seasonal sites may not be transferred, sold, or sublet without written approval.

6. Site Modifications & Structures

  • Decks, sheds, skirting, fencing, or landscaping require written approval before installation.

  • All structures must be temporary, safe, and compliant with campground rules.

  • The Campground reserves the right to require removal of any unapproved or unsafe structure.

7. Utilities & Services

  • Utilities (water, sewer, electricity) may be included or billed separately.

  • Excessive use, unsafe electrical setups, or tampering with connections is prohibited.

  • Water service may be turned off without notice due to weather, maintenance, or emergencies.

8. Occupancy, Conduct & Quiet Hours

  • Occupancy limits per site must be observed.

  • Quiet hours are enforced 11PM-7AM.

  • Disorderly conduct, harassment, or unsafe behavior is prohibited.

  • Management may evict any guest or seasonal camper without refund for violations.

9. Guests & Visitors

  • Registered campers are responsible for the behavior of their guests.

  • Day‑use or overnight visitor fees may apply.

  • Long‑term or frequent visitors may require approval.

10. Pets

  • Pets must be leashed at all times.

  • Owners must clean up after pets immediately.

  • Aggressive or disruptive pets may require removal from the Campground.

11. Vehicles & Speed Limits

  • Vehicles must be parked in designated areas only.

  • Speed limits must be obeyed at all times.

  • The Campground is not responsible for damage to vehicles or equipment.

12. Fire Safety & Wildlife

  • Campfires are permitted only in designated fire pits.

  • All Alberta fire bans and restrictions must be followed.

  • Fires must be attended and fully extinguished.

  • Feeding or approaching wildlife is strictly prohibited.

13. Alcohol, Cannabis & Illegal Activity

  • Alcohol and cannabis use must comply with Alberta law.

  • Illegal drugs, public intoxication, or unlawful activity will result in immediate eviction without refund.

14. Facilities & Amenities

  • Use of facilities (washrooms, showers, playgrounds, trails, etc.) is at your own risk.

  • Children must be supervised at all times.

  • Amenities may be closed for weather, maintenance, or safety reasons.

15. Storage & Off‑Season Risks

  • Any approved off‑season storage is provided at the camper’s own risk.

  • The Campground is not responsible for loss or damage caused by weather, wildlife, theft, vandalism, or natural events.

16. Damage, Cleanliness & Maintenance

  • Campsites must be kept clean, orderly, and safe.

  • Guests are responsible for damage caused by themselves or their visitors.

  • Cleaning or repair costs may be charged to the responsible party.

17. Liability & Assumption of Risk

  • Camping involves inherent risks including uneven terrain, weather, wildlife, fire hazards, and outdoor activities.

  • To the fullest extent permitted by Alberta law:

  • Guests assume all risks associated with their stay.

  • The Campground is not liable for injury, loss, damage, or death except where caused by gross negligence or as required by law.

18. Right to Refuse Service & Termination

  • The Campground reserves the right to refuse service or terminate any reservation or seasonal agreement—without refund—for non‑payment, rule violations, safety concerns, or illegal activity.

19. Privacy

  • Personal information collected during booking is used solely for campground administration and is handled in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.

20. Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada.
