Emerald Trails Campground — Reviews

There were quite a few permanent residents on sites for, great for a one night stop, the bathrooms were decent. We didn't try the laundry but it is available. The direct dump on each site was actually teed between two sites and looked unreliable. The lake is allegedly catch and release but doesn't look healthy. The store was clean and well stocked and the proprietors were very friendly. There was not a fire pit or fire ring on the site, and the sites are very small and narrow.

Great place for a one night stay. We were greeted by Debbie in the office & then escorted to our site. Didn’t use any of the facilities while we were there for our one night.

The people are fantastic, the place is clean, peaceful and shady. The camper facilities are well maintained and work well.

Host was very nice. However , campground is very remote and not as close to Indiana Dunes as I anticipated. There is no swimming pool and the sites are very close together. At $50 per night it is over priced.

Decent Campground in a convenient location. Hosts were pleasant. Pricing reasonable. Bathroom and shower in the main building was clean and nice. It would have been convenient to have outhouses in the places remote from the main office building. When you gotta go, you gotta go.

The campground is very old and crumbling. Quite a number of full-time residents in older, messy RVs. But the surroundings are nice and it has a functional laundry facility. So, it was OK for an overnight stay.

We actually left and did not stay there. It looked like a dump, lots of permanent campers. The guy behind the desk gave us the creeps. We did not feel comfortable or safe to stay there. Would not recommend.
