Forestville Campground — Reviews

Campsites are extremely close together. Vault toilet is not close and at our age we’re needing that at night so we don’t want a longer walk. And they were the worst smelling vault toilets I’ve ever been in. Definitely cool that you can bike out of your campsite. But the MTB trails were poorly marked if at all. Glad I had Strava to guide me. Otherwise I may still be out there. Directions to get there are needed. Had the rough location and then a local guided us the rest of the way. It’s cheap compared to other places. I suppose that’s why you get what you pay for.

We had a great stay. We had a little bit of a hard time finding the campground. Overall it met our expectations.

One night the neighbor’s smoke came into my tent for hours. I had to sleep in a N95 mask to avoid a hospital trip for oxygen. The next night was very noisy with smoke and loud voices until after 2 am. No privacy in any of the camp sites. All of them small.

Campsite was full of construction trailers Relocation of campsite was unclear and unfindable. Did not return phone call. Sad :()

Ran out of toilet paper in the vaults. Sites are very close together. The drinking water was good.

The camp host didn’t have any understanding of which site I booked. The sites were poorly labeled and confusing to set up camp in. I’ve been coming here for 3 years and it’s the first year the site post wasn’t related to the site I booked. The camp host was rude and hard to understand (I don’t think he knew what site we were in but still tried to get us to move). I love the location of this campground but would not hurry back with the camp host.

Was a quick stay, i was doing the Marathon and the quick camp was perfect! Thanks!

Quiet little area to sleep for the night! I thought the space was larger than the site made it sound!

Nice little Motel right across from a beach area.

We loved the peacefulness and "rustic-ness" of the campground. We had beautiful woods bordering the back of our site. There is not much privacy between sites but the surrounding campers were all respectful and quiet, it was a perfect weekend. I also appreciated getting an email with directions to follow the trailhead signs and how to get back to the campsites.

The access to the trails is great. from this campground The trails themselves are good, but poorly signed at junctions and when crossing roads/two tracks. Overall the trails were good. The maintenance shed LIGHT THAT IS ON ALL NIGHT is a horrible feature. $25 motion detectors on the light would make the campground much, much better.

We loved the location however, the sites aren’t private and there’s a train that runs at night and blasts the horn.
