The campground, located on the west side of the park, has approximately 70 modern sites with electricity and approximately 15 primitive sites. Shower houses, restrooms, and a dump station are available to campers. Take a stroll through the labyrinth, it has been found in all traditions throughout history in various forms around the world. It is an ancient therapeutic tool that has been rediscovered and is growing in popularity. It's time to see the beauty of Hawthorn Park!

Cleanest park I’ve ever experienced. Bathrooms were spotless and fully supplied. Also the campground sites were spaced nicely and you weren’t in top of each other. We will be back!

  • Family Hikes

    March 15 - October 18

    As the weather is warming up, it's time for family hikes! Gather your family and join us for our monthly hiking club! One Saturday of every month starting this March we'll meet in one of our county parks to go on a guided hikes on some of our beautiful trails. Hikes will be at 10 am and last until about 11 am, though some can go longer. Third Saturday of every month beginning in May from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. All ages are welcome! March 15th- Hawthorn Park May 10th- Prairie Creek Park June 21st- Fowler Park July 19th- Fowler Park August 23rd- Ruble Park September 20th- Wabashiki October 18th- Hawthorn Park

  • Hawthorn Park Hayride

    October 18

    Join the VCPRD on Saturday, October 18th at Hawthorn Park from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for family-friendly hayrides! Rides will leave from the Dogwood Shelter. Tickets are $3 per person. This event is open to all ages and includes a brief ride around the park!
