Rising from the foothills and nestled in the Bears Paw Mountains, Hill County Beaver Creek Park is located south of Havre MT. The Park covers over 10,000 acres and frames 17 miles of Secondary Highway 234: Beaver Creek Highway. Established in 1916, it is the largest county park in the United States. Beaver Creek Park is open year-round to all individuals for recreation and conservation purposes. Camping, fishing, picnicking, wildlife viewing, sightseeing, hiking, and many other outdoor recreational activities are encouraged. A current park permit is required for all park use. Beaver Creek Park only has rustic and primitive camping: no individual hook-ups, no water, no sewer, no power, no internet, no cable, no provided amenities. Perfect for when you want to escape from the busyness of the ‘real’ world and relax in nature without electronic distractions. Get ready to enjoy the great outdoors at Hill County Beaver Creek Park!

The Bear Paw Bowmen Campground is one of our largest campgrounds, and has a large open-sided pavilion. This campground does have electrical hook-ups (available for an extra fee) and is great for larger gatherings. There are three sets of horseshoe pits, volleyball poles, a swing set and a teeter totter. This campground has several large areas of flat space, great for large group activities or just extra parking space. Beaver Creek is readily accessible, and the Bear Paw Bowmen Campground also features a wooden ADA accessible outhouse. This campground is close to the RV Dump site and the Rotary Falls Hiking trail, and fairly close to other hiking trails.

    Community Effort

    Community Effort is very easy to access for all classes of recreational vehicles. This site can accomodate up to 15 units, and there is also parking for many individual vehicles. The Community Effort Site was a group effort led by the local Railroad Pagers club and the Walleye’s Unlimited, and is the only reservable site at Beaver Creek Reservoir. The pavilion is partially walled with many picnic tables, and there is a set of horseshoe pits. The fishing pier provides easy fishing access to the lake, and the concrete sidewalks connect the pier to the pavilion and the concrete ADA accessible outhouse. There are memorial benches and memorial trees strategically placed throughout the site, and there is a large parking area. This site is located about 8 miles north of the RV Dump site, and is the farthest site from the Bear Paw Nature Trail.

    Dean Hanson Memorial Campground is easy to access for smaller classes of recreational vehicles, but is moderately difficult for large vehicles to access due a narrow roadway with encroaching trees. This campground can accommodate up to 8 smaller units. Dean Hanson is a wooded and private area to camp, with a concrete ADA accessible outhouse. This is a smaller campground, with a concrete slab around a large firepit. Beaver Creek is readily accessible, and this campground is close to several trails, and within 6 miles of the RV Dump site.

    Elks

    Elk’s Campground is very easy to access for smaller classes of recreational vehicles, and moderately easy for larger vehicles. This campground can accommodate up to 8 units. The Elk’s Campground is a smaller campground located directly north of the Camp Office. The campground is nestled in a wooded location close to the highway and offers two sets of horseshoe pits. There is no creek access at the campground, but creek access is still withing walking distance. A new Handicap accessible outhouse with concrete walkway was installed during the summer of 2015. This campground is the closest to the RV Dump site and the Rotary Falls Hiking trail, and fairly close to other hiking trails.

    Fireman’s Campground is very easy to access for smaller classes of recreational vehicles, and would be moderately difficult for larger vehicles due to a sharply angled approach and tree cover. This campground can accommodate potentially up to 15 units. Fireman’s Campground was renovated during the summer of 2015. This campground has an open-sided pavilion and easy access to Beaver Creek. The outhouse is concrete and ADA accessible. There are volleyball poles and a horseshoe pits. This campground is also close to several trails, and within 8 miles of the RV Dump site.

    HPPA Campground has an access rating of easy to moderate for smaller classes of recreational vehicles, and moderate to difficult for larger vehicles due to a sharply angled approach and tree cover, and can accommodate potentially up to 8 units. HPPA is in a wooded area, located right on Beaver Creek. There is a horseshoe pit and a concrete slab around a large fire-pit. The campground has two additional smaller fire-pits and the recently updated concrete outhouse is ADA accessible. A new pavilion was installed during the summer of 2016, and has been wired to power lights and electrical outlets from a self-provided generator. The campground has excellent creek access, and is within walking distance of several access points for the scenic and historic Bear Paw Nature Trail. This campground is within 10 miles of other hiking trails and the RV Dump site.

    Lions Campground A has an access rating of easy to moderate for all classes of recreational vehicles due to a sharply angled approach and tree cover, and can accommodate potentially up to 15 units. The Lions Campground saw significant flood damage over 2010, 2011, and 2013, which was repaired during the summer of 2016. These repairs included the addition of another concrete outhouse and concrete pavilion, and the site was then split into two different sides. Lions side A is from the highway to the creek, and Lions side B is from the creek further back. Both sides are located in the middle of the Bear Paw Nature Trail, a scenic and historic hiking trail that skirts the west edge of the campground. Lions A has a concrete pavilion with an interior fireplace, and a concrete ADA accessible outhouse. There are horseshoe pits and a pedestrian bridge crossing Beaver Creek. Also, this is a spot that offers a lot of tree cover, and has a large flat open area. This campground is within 10 miles of other hiking trails and the RV Dump site.

This campground can accommodate potentially up to 15 units. The Railroad Pager’s Campground has the largest semi-enclosed pavilion with an indoor fireplace. The Campground also included multiple sites and firepits, one of which has a concrete slab surrounding the firepit. Two sets of horseshoe pits and a single set of volleyball poles are also available. The campground is a large and wooded area with many extra picnic tables and excellent creek access including a pedestrian walking bridge over Beaver Creek. There are benches strategically placed around the campground, and the outhouses are handicap accessible. There is electricity at the pavilion which can be available for an additional fee. The Pager’s Campground is also within walking distance of several access points to the Bear Paw Nature Trail; a scenic and historic hiking trail. This campground is also close to several other trails, and within 8 miles of the RV Dump site.

    Marden’s Campground is very easy to access for all classes of recreational vehicles, and can accommodate potentially up to 15 units. Marden’s is located just northwest of the Camp Office, and has two large flat grassy areas good for large group activities or additional parking. There is a large open-sided pavilion in case your picnic needs to be moved out of the rain, and access to the creek is within walking distance. The area has some tree cover around the pavilion and offers playground equipment consisting of swing sets and teeter-totters, volleyball poles, and two horseshoe pits. There is a cement ring around the fire pit, and a double wooden outhouse. This campground is the closest to the RV Dump site and the Rotary Falls Hiking trail, and fairly close to other hiking trails.

    Rotary Campground is fairly easy to access for all classes of recreational vehicles, and can accommodate potentially up to 15-20 units. Rotary Campground has a large partially walled pavilion and easy access to Rotary Pond and Beaver Creek. The area is flat and woody, and has multiple sites within the campground. The concrete outhouse is ADA accessible, and sidewalk extends from the pavilion to the parking area as well as to the pedestrian bridge that crosses Beaver Creek. There is an upright BBQ and a large fire pit by the pavilion. This campground is also close to several trails, and within 7 miles of the RV Dump site.

The JC’s Campground has a concrete ADA accessible outhouse and a pedestrian bridge that crosses Beaver Creek to the Hagener Campground. (The Hagener Campground cannot be reserved, and is self-filled on a first come first served basis.) The campground is wooded, with a large fire ring, volleyball poles and horseshoe pits. This campground is also close to several trails, and within 7 miles of the RV Dump site.
