Holden Park Campground — Reviews

I’d give this campground 4½ stars if I could! The property is beautiful, right on the lake, and everything was very clean and well cared for. We enjoyed the well-maintained trail to the lake and the large playground for kids. The unisex bathrooms with flushing toilets and the drinking fountain for filling water bottles were great amenities. A few improvements would make the stay even better: • There was only one shower, and its drain was clogged during my stay. The push button also provided only about 10 seconds of water at a time. Clearing the drain and extending the water cycle would make showering much easier. • Campsite numbers are on the electrical boxes and are difficult to see after dark. Reflective numbered stakes beside the road at each site would really help. I often arrive after dark and set up using a headlamp. • A clear entrance sign indicating the left turn into the campground at the blue sign would make arrival easier, especially at night. • There was no camp host during my stay. Having a clearly posted contact number for maintenance issues and after-hours assistance would be helpful. I hope management will consider these changes, especially the shower repair and improved signage. This is a lovely campground, and I would happily stay again!

Quiet park. Newer bath house and playground. Everything was well maintained and clean. Would Highly Recommend for a stay!!

Beautiful Playground super close to our site, which was so was so easy to set up our tent while the kids played. Cool little exclusivity road to get to where the campsites are. The lake is nice to o look, but I wouldn’t recommend going in it for swimming as it looked dirty. Bathrooms are well maintained. The water station is clearly marked and some convenient next to the bathrooms and playground. Christmas lights turn on above the playground too. Lots of Bugs, gnats especially throughout the whole day. Our citronella candle didn’t do much against them, so maybe just bring straight up bug spray. I don’t think quiet hours are really enforced. As my husband had to ask some people being loud after 11pm that we were trying to sleep and had kids.

We enjoyed the backwoods and quiet campsite. The trails are nice but a few could have used a trim. It was a nice time!

It was very peaceful. Wish there was a map that maybe had the trails and places to fish off shore. The address for the dump station is not correct that they have listed on the board. We put it in our GPS and the address doesn't show up. The address took us to 1520 East and the only 1520 that showed up was west. We went to that location and it was a locked waste station. We looked up dump stations in Durand and it took us to 1400 Torrent park where they had one.

Economical. Excellent facilities. Quiet & peaceful.

Beautiful little gem tucked away. Quiet and secluded. Playground for the kids and lots of trails. Will definitely return!

Great location, Quiet campground. Only draw back was no oversight. Someone was squatting here and made me feel very uncomfortable as a solo camper. Bring your own firewood and otherwise enjoy a beautiful location.

We were only ones there. Put toilets only. They might be building new bathrooms, not sure. No staff there at all.

It was nice and quiet clean sites and kids live it's play ground. The mosquito weren't as bad this time.

The park was small, quiet, quite full Friday and Saturday night, but because of the space between sites, there was plenty of privacy. Bathrooms were clean, and not smelly. Places were around to picnic, enjoy the water, fish and hike. Would have appreciated the trails to be mowed. We were uncertain where the trails were. A map would have also been nice. We will return!

Other campers kids were loud and obnoxious, other than that it was a good stay. Could use water hookups and a place to dump tanks tho.

Excellent service from county office in Durand. Trying to make reservation online , wasn’t working and Zack called me back and got me a spot for the next day!

Site 1 does not have any electricity. Also some trees are in the way. Public restrooms were quite awful. All of the campsites are very close to each other.

Nice campground but bathrooms were pretty bad and someone with no camping equipment (just a car with no gear) drove through checking it out, looked a lot like they were scoping it out as a place to do a drug deal.
