The bathhouse was still under construction. But not a bad place. We enjoyed our time.

Most bathrooms (womens) had toilets marked "out of service". No wifi. Expensive. Water system failed and was turned off when leaving which made dumping difficult. Overall, and over-priced, under-serving experience.

Campground was clean, sites are close together and the WiFi is non existent, shows as a network but isn’t actually connected to the internet.

Site D5, big site which was nice. Well kept by staff. It’s dirt/sand so you will track dirt into your camper/coach continually (really wish they gravel these sites). They did spray for mosquitoes in the evening which is good because they are vicious this time of year.

First of all the staff was amazing! So kind and friendly and helpful. We absolutely love the island. Beaches restaurants, bike pass. We just cannot say enough. Can't wait to come back.

Gorgeous setting with the live oaks dripping with Spanish moss. Many of the trees even had jasmine on them as well. The spots are really close to each other and many spots are tight to get into. There are ample pull through spots available if you are not as proficient with backing in. We’re relative newbees so we purposely reserved a back in spot for the practice. That said, we also learned to use our Trailer Assist feature on the F250 we purchased to haul. It worked like a charm. I’ve not seen my husband happier. Full service hook ups, i.e. water and sewage. Amenities – nice laundromat area which we saw used often. Community rooms available, but didn’t see it being used. The bath house was eh. Went to check it out to pee before we worked to set up our rented trailer, so in a hurry. 2 of the 3 toilets were out of order in the women’s. Hubby says they all worked in the men’s. The showers were concrete, straight out of a prison movie. Very utilitarian. But fear not, I later found the new, upgraded bath house which is open plus construction is underway on another bathhouse. Campground store is reasonably well stocked. Great selection of stickers. I bought a ceramic tall coffee mug now that I no longer use my tervis tumblers for my morning coffee (eliminating plastics where I can). I’m reasonably certain that if you have an emergency RV need, you could find what you need in the store. Plus, the obligatory ice cream selection. Wifi is available, but weak and spotty at best. Not an issue for us as we were there to escape much of the digital world. Cellular coverage was good so we could still check in and keep up with the news. Interesting “bird sanctuary.” Closer to the truth is that someone roped off an area and put up some bird feeders. Still, nice effort and the squirrels were happy to eat what fell to the ground. Still, the beauty of the island and availability to camp rather than stay in a hotel/resort means I give it a 5.

Enjoyed the biking trail a lot. Weather was great. Camp spot was nice under the trees but some biting bugs. Advertised cable but none found.

The campground started expansion with new bath houses 3 years ago. The expansion appears to be on hold there is only one new functional bath house. Workers were working on a 2nd bath house , hopefully they will get it done before summer.

FIRST OF ALL, GREAT STAY!!AND WE ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO OUR JEKYLL ISLAND TRIPS! WE CAN'T WAIT FOR ALL THE BATHROOMS TO BE FUNCTIONING. 1 OLDER BATHHOUSE ONLY HAD 1 TOILET WORKING. ALSO NOT TO BE TOO PICKY BUT IT WOULD BE NICE IF THINGS WERE A LITTLE CLEANED UP. AND I REALLY DO MEAN THAT IT REALLY DOESNT NEED TO BE PRISTEEN OR SPOTLESS BUT THE BLDINGS NEEDING PRESSURE WASHING TO EXCESSIVE LEAVES ON THE GROUND. WE UNDERSTAND ITS A STATE PARK BUT ITS JUST GENERAL APPEARANCE AND UPKEEP. WE LIVE ON EDISTO ISLAND, SC AND WE HAVE A LARGE STATE PARK RIGHT HERE WHERE WE LIVE AND WE ALSO BATTLE THE COASTAL CLEANUP CHORES ON OUR PROPERTY. I DONT WANT ANY OF THE EMPLOYEES TO FEEL LIKE WE DONT UNDERSTAND. WE GET IT. ITS JUST THAT THE MOLD AND MILDEW CAN REALLY TAKE OVER. SORRY FOR THE RANT.
