Kritters Campground – Rules & Policies
We’re glad you’re here and appreciate your help in keeping Kritters Campground safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone. By entering or staying on the property, guests and visitors agree to follow these Rules & Policies.
Check-In: Campsite check-in begins at 1:00 PM and cabin/lodging check-in begins at 3:00 PM. Early arrivals cannot be accommodated. Guests arriving after 7:00 PM should make prior arrangements with the office. Reservations may be held until 11:00 AM the day after scheduled arrival, after which they may be considered a no-show and canceled without refund. Kritters Campground operates on Eastern Time.
Check-Out: Check-out time for all guests is 11:00 AM. Late departures after 11:00 AM will incur a $25 fee, plus $25 for each additional 30 minutes, unless approved in advance. Kritters Campground operates on Eastern Time.
Speed Limit: The speed limit throughout the campground is 5 MPH and is strictly enforced.
Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Please be considerate of your neighbors at all times. Excessive noise is not permitted at any time, and generators are not allowed. To report a disturbance, call or text (906) 293-8562.
Campfires: Firewood must be purchased at Kritters Campground. Fires must remain in fire rings, may not be left unattended, and fire rings may not be moved. Cutting trees, breaking branches, or gathering wood is not permitted. Please do not place trash, metal, or cigarette butts in fire rings. Campfires may be restricted or prohibited during dry conditions or burn bans.
Rugs & Mats: Rugs and mats are not permitted on RV site grass unless approved by the office.
Water Use: Washing campers, ORVs, vehicles, or boats is not permitted. Use of water balloons, sprinklers, or excessive water use may be restricted.
Campsites / Visitors: Site occupancy limits apply based on site type, with no more than 4 adults per site unless approved. Additional guest fees may apply. Day visitors must check in at the office and leave by 10:00 PM. Each site is limited to 2 vehicles or trailers, in addition to one camping unit, unless management approves otherwise. Sleeping tents on RV sites require prior approval. Tent sites allow up to 2 tents, and RV sites allow 1 camping unit and 1 tent per state regulations. Camping units must be positioned properly for utility hookups.
ORVs / Bikes: All ORVs must observe the 5 MPH speed limit, and engines must be shut off by 10:00 PM. Drivers must be 16 or older or directly accompanied by an adult to the trail. Full ORV rules are available in the office. Bikes and e-bikes are welcome on campground roads and the nature trail. Please ride safely. Stunts, wheelies, skidding, reckless operation, or aggressive riding are not permitted.
Activity Areas / Pavilion / Nature Trail: The playground and activity field are open daily from 8:00 AM to dusk. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors. The pavilion is open daily from 7:00 AM to 10:45 PM. Please clean up after use and respect quiet hours. The nature trail is available for walking, running, and biking and is used at your own risk.
Pets: We are pet friendly. Pets must be leashed or in a fenced area and are not allowed in the office/store, cabins, or restrooms. Pets may not be left unattended outside and must be cleaned up after. Owners are responsible for any behavior, injury, or damage caused by their pets. Excessive barking or aggressive animals are not permitted.
Lodging: Smoking or vaping is not allowed inside any lodging. Open cooking is not permitted in cabins. Yooper Cottage and Superior Cabin are pet-free units. Unauthorized pets, smoking, or vaping in restricted lodgings may result in a $250 cleaning fee, plus damages. Guests are responsible for any missing items or damage beyond normal wear and tear. Children under 6 are not permitted on top bunks, and the recommended minimum age is 10.
Firearms / Alcohol / Smoking: Firearms, air guns, BB guns, slingshots, fireworks, sparklers, snap pops, and similar items are prohibited. Please keep such items secured in your vehicle or camping unit. We are a family campground, so alcohol must be consumed responsibly and respectfully. Marijuana is not allowed off your campsite. Smoking is prohibited near playgrounds and in buildings.
Sewer / Gray Water / Site Damage: Dumping gray water or sewer on the ground is prohibited. Please report any spill immediately. Guests are financially responsible for spills, cleanup, damage to utilities, landscaping, buildings, rental units, or campground property caused by negligence, misuse, or violation of campground rules.
Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi is provided as a convenience and may vary based on location, weather, device type, or network demand. By using the campground Wi-Fi network, guests agree to use the service lawfully and responsibly. Kritters Campground may restrict, suspend, or discontinue Wi-Fi access at any time without notice. Wi-Fi service is provided as-is without guarantees of speed, reliability, or uninterrupted availability.
Cancellation / Refund Policy: All cancellation requests must be made prior to arrival. Cancellations made 15 or more days before arrival will receive a refund of all amounts paid except the full first night’s charges, including the nightly rate and any applicable booking fees, lock site fees, or similar reservation fees. Cancellations made 8 to 14 days before arrival will receive a refund of 50% of the total reservation amount. Cancellations made 7 days or less before arrival are non-refundable. Reservations that do not arrive and do not notify the campground may be treated as a no-show and are non-refundable. No refunds will be issued after check-in for early departure, weather, bugs, road conditions, smoke, discomfort with nature, loss of utilities, rule violations, or removal from the property. Management may make exceptions at its sole discretion.
Right to Refuse Service / Removal: Kritters Campground reserves the right to refuse service, deny entry, cancel reservations, or require any guest or visitor to leave the property without refund for rule violations, unsafe behavior, illegal activity, excessive disturbance, harassment, intoxication, property damage, or conduct that negatively affects other guests, staff, or campground operations.
Liability / Assumption of Risk: Guests and visitors use the campground, cabins, roads, trails, pavilion, playgrounds, Wi-Fi, and all other facilities at their own risk. Outdoor recreation and campground environments involve inherent risks including uneven ground, wildlife, insects, weather, falling branches, fire, water, vehicle traffic, and actions of other guests. Guests are responsible for their party, visitors, children, pets, and personal property. Kritters Campground, its owners, employees, and representatives are not liable for accidents, injuries, illness, theft, loss, vehicle damage, acts of nature, weather events, service interruptions, or circumstances beyond our control, except where prohibited by law.
