    2023 Life at LCB Photo Contest What do you love most about Oklahoma State University's Lake Carl Blackwell (LCB)? As America's Brightest Orange lake destination, so many things make this place unique. What better way than to capture those moments with a photo! Entries will be considered in the following categories: Nature/Wildlife - On the lake, at the lake, in the lake, and above the lake! Lake/Landscape - A sense of place, space, and beauty People - People enjoying activities on the lake and by the lakeshore This is a monthly competition open to all amateur photographers 18 years and older. Entries will be due no later than the last day of each month, starting May 1, 2023, until October 31, 2023. There is no limit on how many photos an entrant wishes to submit. After taking your photo, post it here along with your name AND the hashtag #lifeatlcb, as this will help us quickly locate all images. Let us know which category you are featuring your photo in and why it is meaningful to you. The more "likes" a photo receives will also be considered. The winner EACH month will receive an Annual Permit for LCB. After close of contest, we will review ALL photos from all entrants. From those photos selected, a 2024 calendar of "Life at Lake Carl Blackwell" will be made available. PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR PHOTOGRAPH FEATURED IN THE CALENDAR IT MUST BE SUBMITTED AS A HIGH RESOLUTION FILE of 300 dpi. The winners will receive a two-night stay in one of LCB's beautiful cabins (#09, #10, or #13), valid between December 1, 2023, and April 30, 2024. All proceeds will go back to the lake fund for future enhancement. We look forward to seeing your photographic talent in capturing this special place! TERMS AND CONDITIONS (aka the small print) Eligibility This photo contest is open to everyone 18 years of age or older. Any photo that fits into one of the three contest categories and is taken at LCB is eligible. Awards and Results Monthly Awards: A total of 5 winning submissions will be selected monthly from April-October 2023. Winners will be announced on LCB's Facebook page and will receive an Annual Lake Permit to run for one year from the award date. Calendar Finalist Awards: A total of 12 winning submissions will be selected for the 2024 Life at Lake Carl Blackwell calendar from ALL photo entries submitted for this contest. The winners will receive a two-night stay in one of LCB's beautiful cabins (#09, #10, or #13), valid between December 1, 2023, and April 30, 2024. Winners will be announced on LCB's Facebook page mid-November 2023, and the winners will be tagged in the Facebook announcement. Judging Photos will be judged based on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact, artistic merit, and subject matter relevance. Public voting for the 2024 calendar will be presented for a public vote on the LCB Facebook page during the week of November 6-10, 2023. Other information If you would like your photo submitted for consideration in the 2024 calendar, they must be 8 x 10, high resolution 300 dpi, in .jpeg or .png format, and at least 5 MB. Horizontal orientation is preferred (for possible use in a calendar without extensive cropping). All photos should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared. Images that appear digitally altered beyond standard optimization (cropping, spotting for dust, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color, and contrast, etc.) will be disqualified. Entrants may be asked to supplement their submission with more explanation about the photo or provide a higher resolution version of the image anytime during the contest period. If an entry contains any identifiable person(s) other than the entrant, it is the entrant's responsibility to obtain permission from the other person(s) depicted in the photo. In addition, if an entrant is under the age of 18, a parent/guardian of the minor must submit a media release form to lcb@okstate.edu. By submitting a photo, you grant Oklahoma State University's LCB a royalty-free, non-exclusive right in perpetuity to use any image submitted in printed publications, on LCB social media channels, or in any other media. Entries must be the sole, original work of the entrant. Entrants may not copy or otherwise plagiarize any portion of the entry from other sources. Entries may not contain any third-party materials or materials that violate or infringe or may be at risk of infringing any third-party rights. Entries that contain objectionable or inappropriate content, as determined by LCB at its sole discretion, will be ineligible.     Lake Carl Blackwell presents Nature's Vein Wildlife Rescue of Oklahoma. Meet the educational birds and reptiles up close! Understand the importance of our natural wildlife. Learn what to do if you find abandoned or injured wildlife. Saturday June 17 10-11 am at the Main Pavilion at Lake Carl Blackwell. Please stop by the Lake Park Office on your way in, to get your $5 per vehicle permit for entry to the program and then enjoy the lake as long as you like for the rest of the day!
