Lake McSwain Campground and Recreation Area — Reviews

Sites are spacious but A lot of dirt, uneven parking pads, bathrooms are eh, plus a fire was near and we had to leave early.

I loved the location, but the men’s bathroom shower was gross,the curtain was full of lime and the walls also. I expected better but this can be easily fixed by taking better care of it and using quality cleaning products to get a better result. Please improve the quality of care and you will have more success at getting more people visiting your location.

Clean site, close to the lake and very quite.

Staff at Splash and dash were super helpful and made things easy in the chaos of the heat from the weather

Not a waterfront site as advertised

My family and I enjoyed our stay we pre-booked at first it was confusing because everything was booked up but when talking with one of the agents they helped me finalize my plans and give me my spot that I choose every year the perfect spot which was an available at the moment and gave me a email letting me know that it became available on another date which was very comforting because that was a whole purpose why I wanted to take my family to that specific spot it’s just the perfect spot in front of the water shade area has the plugs and the water where everything is right there in front of us to make our stay even more comfortable I also admire the fact that the updates of the park it’s been a while since I have been there and the showers are like regular you just turned the knob and you got some nice warm water felt like home the park Rangers drive-by periodically and say hello good morning good afternoon very comforting to know that they’re always around this time I took my sister and my brother-in-law with us they have never been to McSwain they loved it now it’s their favorite spot they’re actually going back this weekend we are already making plans for our next trip within the month the staff is great the park is clean I feel safe knowing that the Rangers are always in sight and it’s a clean good place to take your family and create cherished memories like I did and I will continue not to mention the little circle we were in our neighbors we’re just amazing we became friends we hung out it was just an awesome experience.

The young men from MID took great care of our group of thirteen! Especially Robert. We love our site and the bathroom was super clean!

The campsite is amazing! All of its features, layout, and attention and support from the park staff. One room for improvement will be the lights out / no noise curfew to be respected and enforced ♥️

Girl at welcome station was super nice got the stay off to a great start. Very peaceful setting. Had a nice walk around the park, very enjoyable.

We were able to get our reservation the same day we left. We got spot A8 and it was beautiful!! The front gate lady was very sweet and helpful. Would definitely go back!
