Limestone Park — Reviews

Great little park. Nothing fancy, but the camping spots were level and there was a large grassy field for the dog. We only stayed one night with easy access off of route 81.

Nice park, we'll kept and quiet.

Great stop for overnight. Right off 81 traveling through heading north. Third time stopping along the way.

Place was great! Quiet, clean. Didn't use the bathhouse. The access to the water is a little steep. Only issue I had was they didn't have fire wood, but there is a guy a few miles south on the left, that sell fire wood for 5 bucks. Will definitely visit again.

Full hookup was a plus and campground is level and safe but, campsites are very close, there’s hardly any shade, and bathroom was dirty.

Nice pit stop on our drive. Easy to get to. Site was clean and well maintained. Did not use any facilities as it was just a stopover but some place to keep in mind for a nice safe place to stop.

Limestone Park campground. It’s a small Pet friendly campground , maybe 15 sites, all back ins , but Lots of room to turn and get around they have 50 ,30 & 20 amp power , water ( good 60 psi pressure) picnic table and fire ring, and a dump station there is a bathroom ,but no showers. The roads & pads are all hard packed gravel the whole park is very level. It was an old ballpark so no trees for shade. There is a pool that’s closed and two tennis courts. Reservation are made online as there is no one on site, but they have Always answered the phone. It’s a Very clean and well maintained campground There is some road noise , but not terribly bad . There a walking path in the right back corner of the campground that leads to the James River for water sports. Buchanan Pop 1,200 is. Less than a mile away with shops and restaurants. The Blue ridge parkway is about 7-8 miles up the mountain and when I say (up) I mean UP 2,000 feet in elevation difference from the town / base @ 800 feet. Head up to Peaks of Otter lodge for breakfast,lunch and dinner it’s beautiful. The have a shuttle to Sharp Top Mountain from the lodge 20 minutes up beautiful views

Staff is amazing, so sweet and the campground has many amenities and things to do and convenient to the James River! As a woman who needed a place to stay in between finding housing, I felt extremely safe.

Site was easy to access. Bathrooms were in poor condition and showers were for all intents non-functional. Specifically assigned site was already occupied but alternate space found although with no services.

Stopped at this campground for an overnight stay while traveling to Tennessee and had a wonderful experience! was pleasantly suprised by the amenities and cleanliness considering the low price of the RV site, would definitely recommend for an overnight or longer stay!

Very nice. Site for kayak and tube dropoffs otherwise very quiet. Fun little town. Pool is huge with a lifeguard and short order cook! So if you don’t want to cook-bingo. Showers are in the pool area. Bathrooms in front.

Cute little park. Easy on an off 81. The pool was fantastic.

Perfect overnight stop off I 81. Having the pool there and a small grill to order dinner made it even better. Manager was most accommodating when we asked to change our spot to a longer one.

Clean. Quiet, beautiful pool.
