Terms & Conditions

All customers and or guests must abide by the following rules and guidelines, no exceptions.

  1. Arrival/Departure: Check in between 1:00pm to 9:00 pm, Check out is 11:00am. Late check-ins are permitted, please call the office at 250-307-8002 for instructions. You do not need to stop in the office to check in or for check-outs. 
  2. Maximum 4 people on a single campsite, either maximum of 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 dependent children. Charges for additonal campers will apply, call office for details.
  3. Day Guests: are allowed to come visit campers, visting time is from 8am to 9 pm and must notify the office,  all day guests must park in the extra parking spots. 
  4. Gates close at 10 pm, open at 6 am. If you need to come in at after hours, please call the office at 250-307-8002
  5. Quiet times are from 10:00pm to 8:00am. No generators, except at the discretion of the management. Excessive noise is not permitted at any time. Please be considerate to your fellow campers.
  6. Speed limit within the campground is 5km/h, no exceptions. GO SLOW
  7. Children: Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Parents are responsible for their childrens safety and conduct, and any injuries or damage that they may incur or cause. Unsupervised children who cause disruption for other guests may be asked to leave the park with their entire group.
  8. Campers are responsible for everyone at their campsite, including guests and pets. 
  9. Camp fees must be paid upon arrival at the campground or online in advance. No hook-ups will be provided until payment has been received Payments must be made by cash, e-transfer, debit or credit. Mara Cottage Campground management and park staff reserves the right to remove vechicles, tents, trailers or property of guests that refuse to provide payment. Towing will be at the owners expense.
  10. Trees: Protect our trees, No trimming, cutting or gathering from trees. Firewood bundles are available for purchase at the service shed. Please do not climb trees or put nails into the trees.
  11. Camping Etiquette: No illegal, illicit or offensive activities permitted. Smoking of legal substances should not interfere with other guests enjoyment of the park. There is a no tolerance policy for violent or abusive behaviour or disorderly conduct and are grounds for eviction from the park. no refunds will be provided for any quest who is removed for violation of the park policy. Public intoxcation and drug use of any kind is not tolerated and will result in the RCMP being called and immediate removal from the park. Alcohol may be consumed within the confines of the campsite only. Physical or verbal abuse, including threats or intimidation, toward any park stuff, guest, or visitor, will not be tolerated and will be dealth with accordingly, which may include removal or police involvement.
  12. Fire Pits: You must unsure your fires are out before retire for the night. We respectfully request not to bring your own fire wood as some wood sparks more then others. Firewood bundles are for sale by the service shed. All firepits must stay in the spot they are in, please dont not move them, a 25$ fee will be charged to your card if they are found to be moved. Campfires are permitted ONLY within the fire pits provided, and are subject to Provincial Fire Regulations/ Bans.
  13.  Fireworks and firearms: Fireworks and Firearms are strictly prohibited. No firecrackers
  14. Restrooms and Showers: are open 24/7. Please keep tidy up after yourself in the restroom and shower areas. Guests are at their own risk of using the hot water from the showers and sinks.  Guests under the age of 12 must have adult supervison. Please try to keep your showers under 5 minutes to save hot water for other guests. Please leave restrooms as you found them, if they need attention, please notify management.
  15. Septic: Please do not flush anything down the tiolets (including toilets in your RVS) except toilet paper. We are on a septic system and it will block and back up. Please put grease in a container and put in the garbage bins.
  16. Pets are welcome: however must abide by the following: Pets must be kept on a leash at all times.Owners are responsible for pick-up and disposal of their pets waste, Pets must not cause a noise disturbance, Zero tolerance for aggressive behaviour, max 2 dogs a site 
  17. Garbage: Please dispose of all the garbage into the garbage barrels. Guest who leave a mess will be charged $100 clean up fee. Please do not leave cigarette butts or sunflower seeds on the ground. Returnable bottles and cans can be placed in the blue recycling can up front.
  18. Cleanlinss of the park is important to us. Sites are to be kept clean and orderly, as determined by the park management.
  19. Please be respectful of your neigbours privacy. Do not enter another guests campsite without their permission
  20. Parking extra vechicles: there is extra vehicle parking at the entrance of the park. Please dont park your vechicles on the roadways. 
  21. Being asked to leave.if a guest is asked to leave and a tow truck is needed, the guest are responsible for the towing expense.
  22. Please report any problems to the office number 250-307-8002. We are here to assist
  23. Any damage made to you, guests or pets that is cause to the park, sites, cabins, tents, or any lodging will be directly charged to your credit card. Inaddtion to any extra cleaning fee. we reserve the right to charge for cleaning and damages. 

Rerservation Policy

  • All online and phone in reservations are subject to an adminstrative fee of $4.00 and a booking fee of $5.00. all bookings are charged GST.
  • Extra charges that may apply (extra people/pet, tents, oversized rvs, etc) are payable at time of booking.
  • If you shorten your reservation at check in or less than 15 days prior to arrival, you do not receive a refund for those days.
  • Mara Cottage Campground management and park staff reserve the right to move any booking to another site
  • Bookings may be subject to site changes without notice to accommodate longer bookings or larger RV units. We make every attemp to accomodate requests and keep groups close together. 
  • Reservation fee payments will confirm that you have read and agree to all the polices, rates, rules and regulations

Mara Cottage Campground management / park staff have the authority to take any necessary action to ensure your safety, and those around you. Anyone who is in breach of these regulations will be asked to leave the park and NO REFUND will be given. Mara Cottage Campground management and park staff reserves the right to remove or refuse entry to any person who violates or disregards a park policy. Park guests and their visitors agree to use this campground at their own risk. Mara Cottage Campground (J V H ltd.) and management are not responsible for damge, injury or loss to persons, pets, or property. We reserve the right to make changes to the rules, regulations and fees, at our discretion. 

Cancellation Policy:

  • 30 days or more cancellation prior to arrival: 90% refund
  • 15 - 29 days cancellation prior to arrival: Full refund minus 50% cancellation fee
  • 14 days or less cancellation prior to arrival: Full refund forfeited
