We stayed here because it’s only about two hours from home, and overall we had a mixed but manageable experience. The campsites varied quite a bit — some were very close together, while others offered much more space. The electrical and water hookups were placed much farther from the sewer connection than we’re used to, so depending on how you park, you may need an additional sewer hose. The picnic tables were worn and weathered, with some mold on the wood, so they didn’t feel very usable. The shower house and bathrooms were also quite warm since there was no air conditioning. With temperatures in the mid‑90s and a high heat index, the facilities were uncomfortable and could be challenging for anyone sensitive to heat. On the positive side, the grounds were well‑maintained, the grass was cut, and there were plenty of shady spots. There were lots of dogs, and most people cleaned up after themselves. We did notice several dogs off‑leash, which can be risky in a busy campground if not all dogs interact well. The two large shelters were great for gatherings, and the permanent cornhole setups (with bags provided) were a fun touch. Because it’s close to home and has some nice features, we would consider returning, and we hope to see a few improvements over time. No air conditioning in the bathrooms & shower house is concerning. Needing to have 2 sewer hoses connected to use full hookup should be in their description of the campgrounds.
