Marval Resort — Reviews

We enjoyed everything about the resort, the next time we will know to rent the golf carts early. Our family had a great time and we will definitely be back.

I was disappointed to find out that Marval is no longer a Good Sam park. Also,I was not offered any senior/AARP discounts. The stay was fine and we enjoyed the time we spent there.

We've been going for 30 years always a good time . Clean cabins . Beautiful and quiet. So much to do to keep the kids happy.

Its so darn expensive even in your own rv. The golf carts went up again as well.

The stay was great, but we had a family emergency and was unable to stay the full weekend, and the manager was unwilling to comp us back some time. That untimely death in the family was the cause. I felt like the staff could have been a bit more accommodating.

Staff are welcoming and friendly, made for a relaxing weekend.

It was 105 during the day, when little kids needed to be in the shade or indoors. When it started getting cooler and you wanted to take them to the pool they closed it at 8:00. They are not paying a lifeguard so there is no reason to close the pool that early.

Trash was long distance from camp site. Would be nice to have one at each end of camping area.

The house we stayed in was dirty and the golf cart we rented couldn’t hold charge or make it up the hill. Had to get out and push it. The actual camp grounds were good with fun activities for kids. Just frustrating to spend extra money for the executive suite when it was in such poor condition.

Campers were veterans noisy at night, even after 10:30pm when they are to officially be quiet. Other camp sites I spent the evening at were very quiet and considerate of others. I’ll never recommend this place to anyone else interested in camping in Oklahoma.

I was disappointed you started charging $2.00 for rock painting. I love the Marval Rocks Facebook page with Jennifer Davis. I’ve enjoyed participating in rock painting over the last 2 or 3 trips to Marval, as well as, looking at the rocks created, hidden, and found! Awesome activity for all ages. I did not paint any rocks this last trip because of the charge. If we visit Marval again, I will bring my own paints!

We rented a cabin at Marval Campground, June 17-19. When we booked the stay back in February, it did not give us the option to get a Veteran's 10% discount for my husband's service. When we arrived at the campground, they did not want to discuss this and didn't want to make this right for us. Also, the cabin had a queen size bed for the primary and it was like a 'roll away' bed and extremely uncomfortable. For $194.00/night, we felt like this was not the quality of sleeping accommodations you would expect. The campground, in general, was nice. There were quite a few activities for the kids; however, I think that the swimming pool should have been monitored by management since there is not a life guard. There were many kids that were 12-14 years of age that were not accompanied by a parent, as the pool's posted sign stated was required and they were running and jumping into the shallow end of the pool where smaller children were trying to swim and play. I feel that this should be handled by park management even though they are apparently trying to claim no liability with a lack of life guard and posted a sign with no one monitoring.
