McMullen Memorial County Park — Reviews

Very nice park but due to shortage of sites that are reserveable we would not be able to come often. We frequently want 4 sites together, and travel over 3 hours to get there so not going to chance it without reserving.

This best camping trip I have place is best I coming back next year and is so peaceful and fun

Clean facilities, friendly camp hosts, spacious sites. This was my family's first time at McMullen and we enjoyed our time greatly! The lake is clear, but taniny which didn't bother us one bit swimming, a few people fished and had great success. There are some permanent sites here with LOTS of lighting strung through the trees that they seemingly keep on 24/7 which is pretty obnoxious. Definitely some partiers within the permanent sites, but they shut it down at a reasonable time.

It was our first visit to McMullen county park and we will absolutely come back again. The sites were big and wooded. The bathrooms were clean. We utilized the kayak rental and did some fishing on the lake. The kids took their bikes and had a blast riding all over the park. What a gem of a park, less than 2 hours from Madison!

Grateful for a wonderful experience camping. All bathrooms were sparkling clean, park staff/ hosts were friendly, and the reservations process was easy.

Signage for camp number directions was confusing. I stayed at #40, sign at entrance showed it was to the right. There were two roads to the right. Sign should be separate for each camping loop. Otherwise the trails where good. History placards were great even with info on types of inhabitants in the area. Campsite was ok, I used wooden blocks to level my truck camper. Didn't take long.

Not happy on the 3 day reservation. Seems like someone was able to book sites before the 3 day reservations and then set up one day earlier than their set up date.

Large wooded, secluded sites. Lots of things to do in the area.

I love coming here with the kids. Sites are spacious and it's very peaceful. They keep it clean. I wish it wasn't so cold during our stay, but they can't control the weather. We will be back next year for another round, hoping the weather cooperates.
