This is a small campground, beautifully shaded. Many "regulars" that return year after year. However, it is not made for large rigs. We had our 38' Class A on the largest site they had. We would not have fit on any other site.

You're right that Mountaineer is a cozy, tree-filled campground, and our sites are best suited for smaller rigs and travel trailers. When we checked in the hosts were concerned we would not fit in the site we had reserved so they provided a bigger site. The host also helped us get the cable set up for our TV. The campground was clean and the hosts were great. The campground is not far from Cades Cove and the Smoky Mountains National Park as well to other sites. Their wi-fi allowed for streaming for the TV's so we switched to that with our firestick and it worked with no speed slowness at all. The only thing I wish were different was that you didn't have to reconnect to the wi-fi every 24 hours. It didn't take long but it was inconvenient if you were watching something. All in all I say this is a great campground and we will definitely be going back for our next stay in Townsend TN
