Mountaineer Campground — Reviews

Rated4.0out of 5Great!
Very quiet and clean. Love the constant sound of the river. Disappointed that the pool wasn't open, but they were working on it.

Thanks so much for the kind words. We are sorry you were disappointed about the pool. Our normal open date for our pool is Memorial Day weekend. If it's warm enough we sometimes can push it back, but with all the many upgrades we are completing we simply weren't able to. Again, thank you for the kind words and sorry for your disappointment.

Not the workers fault that we could not be refunded but there should be some kind of policy in place for the understanding of weather ruining a camping trip. We got flooded out of our tent and were simply told it was rainy season and shook there head. We did not know that we were traveling home from another trip and just wanted to stop halfway for 2 night to relax how were we to know that’s the season they are in. The attitudes were not very pleasant about it. Even when I was only simply asking. We will definitely not come back. But the site was beautiful when it was not raining.

We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay. We understand how frustrating it can be to have your plans disrupted by weather, especially when you are just looking to relax and unwind. While offering Sensible Weather to our guests to help them in case of inclement weather, we acknowledge that the weather is ultimately out of our control. We will review our policies to ensure that we better communicate seasonal weather patterns and provide more support in such situations.

On the spur of the moment we decided we wanted to check out the Smoky Mountains. Found this campground that was reasonably priced compared to others in the area. Service was great and the hosts were very nice. I would stay here again!

Very clean facilities and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The location was also great as was the RV site, we’ve already booked for next year.

Great size site. The hosts here so friendly and helpful with my husbands disability needs. Even though they had a separate larger family/handicapped bathroom, there were no handrails near the toilet to assist getting on and off.

We were only there for one night, but we loved it. The price was great, the location was perfect. My daughters loved that we were in walking distance for them to venture alone to the playground (they are 6yrs old) the staff were very nice. My daughters asked if we can go there again when we camp in TN next time, and I believe that is what we will do.
