We stayed at Quilly's RV Park for a week, as a jump off point to visit the Vicksburg area. It turned out to be the perfect place. The current owners have been operating the park since 2021, and have been making regular improvements. While we were there, one of the bath houses was being remodeled, and we were told that the park will soon be installing glamping cabins. There is a manager who lives onsite in an RV. Quilly's operates two other parks located in Texas.
Quilly's is located just off of US61, close to downtown Vicksburg, and the Vicksburg National Military Park. The Windsor Ruins are about an hour south, outside of Port Gibson,. You can access the Natchez Trace from Port Gibson and from Jackson which is about an hour east on I20. An hour and a half north, in Leland, MS, is the childhood home of Jim Henson and a museum dedicated to the Jim Henson Collection. Not far from the Jim Henson exhibit is the BB King Museum in Indianola, MS. There is a Waffle House and a Walmart about a mile north on US61.
There are two areas of the park, the original section which has gravel roads and gravel sites, and the newer section with paved roads and concrete pads. Our "economy" site, in the original section, was level, we had no utility issues, and the park Wi-Fi worked well. We had enough AT&T 5G to use my phone as a hotspot and my wife's Verizon phone had full bars. The park has no cable but there are several off-air TV stations available.
The sites in the original section, where we were located, are a bit close and the driveways are narrow, but we had no problem parking our tow car behind our class A. It appeared that many of the sites in the original section were occupied by long term campers. This is one of the quietest parks we have stayed in. All the campers around us were respectful of others. We used the laundry several times, and the machines were all new Speed Queen models. You pay for laundry with a credit card. There is a play area for kids and a swimming pool, but it was too early in the season for the pool to be open. There is a large ice vending machine in front of the office. We didn't use it so I can't comment on the price or ease of use. Twice while we were there, a local food truck was on site, operated by a young lady and her mother. The menu was limited, but the food was excellent, especially the homemade banana pudding.
Everyone we met here, including other campers, were friendly. We could find nothing bad or negative so say about Quilly's RV Park. For certain we would stay here again if we were in the area. By all means give Quilly's a try.
