The campsite was not what I expected and the directions to get to the campground was not accurate. The directions took me downtown Beckley and the campground is about 15 miles away from town.

Lake Stephens was a great park. Very quiet and entire park was well maintained. We stayed in the new section which I would recommend. The lower section is mostly long term. The sites were very spacious, restroom/showers very clean and deer visited campground every night. The lake was beautiful. It was a great stay. Would highly recommend.

Cabins are great and comfy with modern amenities and it's always so peaceful. The cabin did have linens/bedding so it wasn't necessary to bring our own. The only downfall during our recent stay was that the hot tub was dirty/floating items in it, so we couldn't use it.

The campground wasn't easily located. I passed it up and ended up on a private road to someone's house! The young girls at the desk weren't very friendly. The fire pit was not near the campsite at all.

Site was good, but roads getting to park and park road are very winding and narrow. If you would meet anyone, game over- nowhere to go. It was hard to get out of site when leaving as campers next to us parked their vehicles where they extended into our exit. We first thought “never again!”, but decided to come back in the fall as the site was great and park was quiet. Wish you could see lake.
