AGREEMENT OF PURCHASE:
General Campground Information
The 2026 season at Riverbend Retreat is from May 16 to October 12.
For daily Guests, check-in is from 1:00 pm. - 7:00 pm. Check-in of guests who arrive early or late may be delayed. Call during our office hours (11-7) if you foresee a late arrival. Check out is (promptly) at 11:00 am.
A full refund will be given for RV and tent sites if cancelled 7 days in advance. Full refunds for RV or cabin rental will be given if cancelled 14 days in advance.
All Guests must provide a current photo ID, address (or addresses, if different), phone number, credit card, and email to be kept on file with the office.
Guests with pets must show veterinary/vaccination records to check in. Note that pit bulls, rottweilers, and German Shepherds are not permitted at the Campground. (See “Pet Policies” below for details on pet behavior.)
Admission is at Guests’ and visitors’ own risk. Riverbend Retreat Campground will not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by a Guest or visitor while on the premises. Although Campground staff may provide assistance, Guests are responsible for the security of their belongings, as well as the safety and well-being of themselves and their visitors.
Guests under the age of 21 are not allowed to camp without direct adult supervision.
The Campground may take photographs or videos of any Guest or visitor for any purpose, without approval or compensation.
Disrespectful or disorderly conduct toward other guests, visitors, and staff is not tolerated and will result in immediate termination of camping privileges and ejection from the campground.
No refunds will be given for voluntary departure, ejection, removal by law enforcement, court order, acts of nature, or any other reason.
Rules and Regulations are subject to change at Management’s discretion at any time and without prior notice. Once posted at the office or communicated by email, amendments become effective on the date specified therein. Office staff will provide copies of such amendments upon request.
Guests who lose/do not return their key cards will be charged $50.

Visitors to Riverbend Retreat Campsites
A visitor is anyone who is not registered as a Guest for a particular Campground site and is therefore not included in the original booking, agreement, and payment for that site. There is no charge for daytime visitors (9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.), but all visitors must park in the visitors’ lot outside of the gate and register at the office. Contact the office if you will have more than 10 people total at your site during the day.
Overnight visitors will be charged $5 (child under 14) or $10 (age 14+) per night. Note: the maximum number of people (Guests and visitors) permitted overnight at any site at one time is 6, unless written approval is given in advance by Campground Management.
Registered Guests are responsible for the behavior of all visitors and making sure day visitors are off site by 10:00 pm.
Campground Conduct for Guests & Visitors
Safety:
There are no lifeguards at the beach along the river. Children under the age of 14 (or older if non-swimmers) must be actively supervised by an adult when in or near the water. Swimming after dark is not permitted by anyone at any time.
Guests or visitors may not carry or fire guns in the Campground. All firearms within the Campground must be kept unloaded, out of sight, and secured in a safe place at all times.
The speed limit throughout the campground is 5 mph. A second warning for speeding will result in revocation of your gate key.
One vehicle may be parked at each site. You may park a second vehicle in the visitors’ parking area at no extra charge. Motorcycles, E-bikes, scooters, golf carts, & ATV's must also be left in visitors’ parking.
Parking is not allowed at the bathrooms or at the swim beach to keep them accessible to all guests.
Children under 12 may only use the game room if supervised by an adult.
Children must return to their sites (and/or adult supervision at another site) by dark and should never be left alone at a campsite. Riding bikes after dark is not permitted.
Guests are responsible for keeping children and visitors out of the animal barns and pens, roadways, and away from all equipment, vehicles, and structures related to campground operations.
Campfires are ONLY permitted in the fire rings and must be extinguished before bed and/or before checkout as needed. Guests must not move fire rings, put ashes in the woods, or cut trees or branches. Firewood is sold at the office. If you move the fire ring, you will be charged $50.
To foster an inclusive and welcoming community, no outdoor signs or banners that promote or disparage political, ideological, or religious positions or leaders are permitted.
Noise:
Quiet time is from l0:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Be considerate of other guests--play music so that only you can hear it.
Shouting, fighting, screaming, or other disorderly conduct that disturbs other Guests is not permitted.
Campground Staff reserve the right to eject anyone for illegal drugs, excessive use of alcohol, abusive language, destruction of property, creating a disturbance, or harassment of staff, other Guests, or visitors.
Compliance with laws and restrictions:
No fireworks are permitted in the Campground.
All guests must abide by relevant local, state, and federal laws (including but not limited to those governing the use of alcohol or drugs, firearms, and other hazardous materials, as well as prohibitions against vandalism, harassment, or public disorder). Violations of this nature will result in ejection without a warning.
Environmental Stewardship: Keep Riverbend Beautiful!
Leave your site—and the Campground--as you found it. Do not cut down trees or branches, harm wildlife, or leave trash—including pet waste—at your site or in common areas. Firewood is available at the Campground store, and there is a dumpster located up the drive between the recycle shed and dump station.
The campground is in an environmentally sensitive area near the Saco River, and we are also on well water with limited output. No washing of RVs or other vehicles is allowed in the Campground.
The beach area is for loading and unloading only. Parking at or near the beach is not permitted.
The law prohibits the dumping of gray water on the ground. There is a dump station halfway up the drive that is free for Campground Guests.
The barns, goat pen, and chicken coop are off limits to Guests and their pets. Guests and visitors must keep pets far from the animals—whether those animals are inside their pens or free range. Only animal food supplied by campground staff is permissible for feeding.
Vacant sites are to remain empty, neat, and attractive for the next occupants. Parking of vehicles on vacant sites is prohibited.
Pet Policies
Riverbend Retreat is a pet-friendly Campground for well-behaved pets. However, insurance companies have designated certain dog breeds as aggressive, and these are prohibited from the Campground. Guests and their visitors may not bring Pit bulls, rottweilers, or German Shepherds onto the property under any circumstances.
No site can have more than two dogs, and only “indoor” cats are allowed. Dogs may not be left unattended at any time, whether inside or tied/penned up outside. Pets must be kept on a leash no more than 6 feet in length and must remain under control at all times.
Guests must show a copy of vaccination records at check-in and keep the records with them at their site. Rabies vaccinations must be up to date and in effect for the entirety of a Guest’s stay.
Dogs are not allowed to enter or cross the children’s play area, for safety and cleanliness. Even “good” dogs may behave unpredictably around unfamiliar creatures, so Guests must keep pets at least the length of their leash away from all farm animals and their pens to prevent contact and potential harm.
Dogs may swim and play in the river, using the section of the beach to the left of the ramp (farthest from where people access the water.)
Guests must clean up after their pets and dispose of waste in the dumpster (not in the bathrooms). Howling and barking will not be tolerated. Violations of the pet policy may result in the removal of the pet from the Campground and the ejection of the visitor or Guest to whom it belo ngs.
Information and Amenities
Office hours are posted. Call (207) 502-0213 if the office is closed and you need immediate help. Please do not come up to the house.
Game Room: The game room is open from 9AM -9PM. Children under 12 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
Camp Store: Wood, ice and some sundries are available, hours posted on the door.
Internet is available at your site with sign up and a nominal fee.
Showers: (Open 24/7) There are 3 at the front of the bathroom building and 4 at the rear. 25 cents for 4 mins. You may only insert 1 quarter at a time.
Coin operated washers and dryers are available 24 hours at the corner of the gray barn.
A larger sink with hot water for your pots and pans is at the end of the bathrooms.
