Sierra Skies RV Park — Reviews

We had a great time! Wonderful spot, friendly neighbors, and kind managers! Will definitely come again!

Sierra Skies was our first destination with our new-to-us RV. It was a good place to take our RV and get familiar with travel that doesn't involve tents or hotels. Overall, it was a nice park. A bit on the smaller side, which made me a little nervous for my first outing. Thankfully they had a pull through site available when I booked so I could remove one bit of stress with not needing to back in. The site I was in had the utilities set back-to-back with another site, which meant our outdoor living space was basically shared with another camper; this was a bit of a bummer as we would have preferred to have a bit more of our own space. I didn't try the park wifi. Verizon was barely functional for us, T-Mobile & AT&T didn't have any signal. Great swimming hole on the Yuba River. A definite bonus with camping here. The town of Sierra City is a very short walk away. We had a tasty lunch at a nearby restaurant.

The owners are quite nice and very hospital with a live and let live bohemian attitude. Our site was small and very tight, although there were others that were much nicer. There is no cell tower anywhere near there (not even in the tiny village of Sierra City and the wifi at the site is very spotty.)

The spaces were too close together, the power went out and the swimming hole was not as beautiful/clear as described on the site. The water was freezing!

The host, Kenny, was incredibly helpful in our first outing as teardrop campers. And the campers we met at the campsite were also helpful and wonderful neighbors. The site is small so easy to get to know everyone. The area had spectacular scenery and great hiking opportunities!

The camp manager was so nice and helpful. All of our neighbors were wonderful as well. The bathrooms/ showers were clean and well maintained during our stay. The location is perfect for hiking and enjoying the Lakes Basin area.
