Fabulous campground

RV sites are broken pavement or gravel with weeds and grass coming through. My electric post was loose and the breakers loose as well. WiFi is useless unless you just want to check email. Only benefit is its proximity to Atlanta/Stone Mountain. Sad that this CG is soo rundown.

Our first visit to Stone Mountain was enjoyable! Clean facilities, level and very roomy sites, especially on the front end of the park closer to the office and pavilion. The terrain appears more rugged on the back end for those with smaller rigs and more adventurous lifestyles. The road was a little less maintained in these back areas as well. My only regret was not having a clear view of the northern sky for my Starlink. Having never been there before, I relied on staff to give me feedback on the best exposure points in the park. Upon arrival I found myself tucked up against a tree line that limited my Starlink’s line of sight. There were much better locations that I could have been pointed to.

Campground is awesome plenty of biking kayaking, fishing hiking, And . Stone Mountain Central attractions have fallen off in the recent years the laser show and the Paid areas are in need of revitalization sad to see this once popular area so rundown and in need of maintenance. Save your money and just stick to the outdoors activities that are free anyways.

Always a great stay at SMP, I would recommend this park for all travelers and visitors.

The site was nice.

Enjoyed our stay and look forward to the next one. Stayed in a pop up on Site 38 was a bit uneven but it’s manageable. Great view on the water. Power hookup and water hookup was well maintained. Comfort stations are well maintained, and I saw maintenance onsite tending to them regularly. Curbside trash pick up was very convenient. Minutes away from attractions but feels very separated when your on the campsite. Fun and relaxing stay.

I'm new to camping in an RV. I accidentally found your site searching one day. But since then I gravitate toward it due to how easy it is to use...

Roads in were horrible and the WiFi was just as bad

The roads & sites in the loop we were in were the worst I’ve seen in years. Potholes, tree root rises, unlevel & backwards pull-thrus. Our front door was 4’ from the road. To pay what we paid & then a $20 park entrance fee on top was way more than it should have been. The park’s attractions (grist mill, covered bridge & quarry exhibit) were cool, but to pay $67 a night + $20 for two nights was way too much.

Pleasant and cooperative staff. Clean bathrooms. Overall just a great experience

Surprisingly noisy given the lots were far from full. Lake views and availability of fire ring, hibachi and picnic tables were ok but in dire need of maintenance. The bathroom facility was adequate though could also use updating. $40 a night with a 2 night minimum seems to extreme for what you get. You could easily stay at a nicer spot upstate with significantly more bang for your buck (not to mention quieter). Would probably not go back except for a a day picnic. Just not worth it for an overnight.
