Linens were just left in the room, the beds were not made. The shower hadn't been cleaned either.

The campground was a really great campground right on the water. My issue wasn't the mosquitoes as much as it was the flies, and I know there's not much to campground could do about that. The only complaint I have is when we first checked in, We decided to extend one additional night. On the last night I got an email that if we extend it we could get up to 25% off. I asked about this when we checked out, and the lady behind the counter said because I had my military discount I wasn't eligible for any more discounts. About 5% was not gonna break me, I guess it was just the point and the person looked kinda lost when I asked about it. The last thing I will mention, which again has nothing to do with the campsite had to do with being a dog friendly town. Chincoteague is not dog friendly. Very few places allowed us to bring our dog to eat dinner even if it was outside. And the beach was protected and so therefore your dog was not even allowed to be in your car with you to drive around. So if you have a furry friend that you travel with as I do, Just consider this.

  • Fall roundup Weekend

    September 25 - September 27

    Planning on attending the Fall Roundup? Stay with us and experience the best homebase for fun and good times. On September 25th and 26th, the wild ponies of Assateague Island will be corralled for vetting and other checkups. Do not miss the opportunity to see the famous Riptide and all the bands corralled between the Northern and Southern corrals. The Southern Herd Roundup and vet checks will begin at 4:30 pm at the Southern Corral. There will be plenty of parking nearby, so get there early to see Riptide, Legacy, or Twist come in with their bands and hopefully some foals. The Northern Herd Roundup will start around 7 am and requires a hike of about 3 miles to the Northern corral. Typically, it takes a few hours to complete.

  • Oyster Festival Weekend

    October 9 - October 12

    Planning on attending the Chincoteague Oyster Festival? Stay with us and experience the best homebase for fun and good times. The local Chincoteague Oyster Festival is held on Saturday, October 10th from 10 am - 4 pm at Tom's Cove Park to promote the seafood industry and mark the arrival of the oyster season. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy oysters in a variety of ways, including raw, steamed, fritters, and single fried; clam fritters, clam chowder, shrimp cocktail, salad bar, hot dogs, hush puppies, and Boardwalk fries. Beverages are included in the ticket price with beer available for purchase. You also do not want to miss the Extravaganza Raffle - the winner receives a plethora of t-shirts, tickets, lodging, gift certificates for meals, and much more for the following year’s festival. There will also be a variety of merchandise items available for purchase including t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, souvenir food trays, and glass beer mugs. This is an advance ticketed event that is typically sold out before festival day. Participants can enjoy live entertainment while they shop to their heart's content in the Arts and Crafts tent area featuring handmade creations from area artisans. Tickets are $65 per person (children under 5 are FREE) and may be purchased at the chamber office at 6733 Maddox Boulevard, online at www.chincoteaguechamber.com or by phone at 757-336-6161. We will celebrate this weekend at Chincoteague Bay RV Resort & Cottages with themed crafts and activities. There is fun in store for everyone!
