Timberline Campground — Reviews

One of our favorite campgrounds!

Unfortunately there were several glass and cans from alcoholic drinks in the fire pit next to us and on grass areas where I walk my dogs through the park. We had paid for 50 amp site and when we use our search protector, and let us know that there was a ground fault. The only power we could use was the 15. We also have to be very careful at our site because of the low hanging branches for a fifth wheel. I would not have booked that site if I knew that the trees were hanging that low. The good things about the site were: it was quiet and a long-term residencts across the road greated warm waves. As we drove away from the campground, I sent an email because the office still wasn't open when we left. It wasn't open when we got there. The email was about the electrical problem. And no one as of this writing has responded to me. I hope it's fixed for the next users.

Shower house was down due to a plumbing issue. The electrical box was making arcing noises so we had to move. No water in the campground. The place is in poor condition. I called and left a message with my concerns and they did not call back.

Perfect place to stay

Very run down. Web site is not updated. There are no three wheel bikes ,the mini golf is unusable. Everyone was very nice but the place needs a lot of work

Had a hard time finding our spot. There were no markings! Once we got set up, neighbors were nice.

Overall, the stay was fine. The campsite was pretty level and had a nice tree to provide shade. We had to hunt for a picnic table as there was none at our site. Water had a brownish tinge to it, make sure you have a filter. We do like to relax when camping, this campground made it difficult at times. Despite a 10pm quiet hour, there were still loud guests, music playing loud, visitors with loud motorcycles and bass bumping stereos leaving well after quiet hours. We also smelled pot all weekend, never saw anyone doing it and we don't really care what people do but the odor was annoying. All this despite claims from the campground that drug use is strictly prohibited and quiet hours are strictly enforced. There seems to be more seasonal spots than weekenders and the golf cart traffic is unlike I have ever seen before camping. Tricked out gold carts with lights and loud radios. Overall, it was just OK, for us, there are nicer campgrounds not far and we wont be coming back to this campground.

The staff was amazing but the bathhouse was absolutely disgusting!! So dirty and nasty!

Great staff, good amenities. New owners are stepping up the quality of this campground.

Had problems with the power couldn’t find an after hour number to call at the office the number posted on the window was incorrect I moved to another site next to mind an it was working

Very run down. Paid $75 for a “deluxe” site with no picnic table and no fire ring. Mini golf was so run down. Just horrible.

Playground outdated. Water hookup was missing the lever to turn it and we had minimal water pressure.

The staff were very kind, and the campground felt very safe. It’s conveniently located near Peoria, has a beautiful lake, and offers full hookup sites. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the playground equipment was old and there weren’t many activities for children. The gravel driveway made it a bit difficult for kids to ride their bikes, as the wheels tended to slide. Also, the campsites weren’t very private. Overall, it was a nice stay and we enjoyed our time there.
