Turkey Swamp Park — Reviews

Very quiet. Fellow campers were nice, but we were mostly on our own. The staff was friendly and the area was maintained very well. Bathrooms were clean. Overall great time. Will be visiting again.

Nice, relaxed, quiet. Bathrooms need a lot of work. I question the availability of sites when web site shows hardly any available, but walking around the campground there are plenty unoccupied.

The staff was friendly, facilities were clean and there was plenty to do. The kids really enjoyed themselves.

The site was great! Lots of trees and shade. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because the water hookup was 100 ft from site…had to buy more hose. We were in B1, so I’m not sure all sites are like this. Would recommend as a 4+ rating!

The place is good because its quiet and the spaces between sites are wide enough to maintain privacy between campers. The only downside that I got is they scheduled cutting the trees during check out times AT THE DUMP STATION!!! disallowing us to dump our waste which was a pain. We had to find another dump station which was a hustle… They should have coordinated that activity not during the peak check out times.

Site was great. Staff was great. We had campers next to us with kids screaming until almost midnight. They had a super bright light on the entire night. Another set of campers had music blasting late afternoon into evening. I realize it's not quiet hours but I don't come to a campground to listen to other people's music. Granted, I didn't make a complaint but I just wish I didn't have to

Bathrooms were maintained very clean. Park had a lot of trail choices for hiking.

Rangers working there are courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. The campsite was large, clean with picnic table, fire pit, water and electricity. Little far from the shower since you only have one for the campground.

We had an amazing time. Restrooms were always clean. All the staff were extremely friendly and kind. We loved spending the day on the lake as well. We will definitely come back again.

The staff was friendly, the site was clean and the sandy lot drained well after a heavy downpour. My favorite part as a tent camper was having an air-conditioned restroom to get some heat relief. The daily rate was reasonable. It made the out-of-state softball tournament affordable and was only 17 min away from the fields and 30 min from the beach. Don't forget to ask for your pass to the beach.

Clean, hospitable and knowledgeable rangers, many available hiking trails. Beautiful setting and lovely lake.

Beautiful campground in beautiful Freehold, NJ. Close to everything and only a short 1 hour bus ride away to NYC. Loved experiencing the best of both worlds: nature and the big city. The only downside with Turkey Swamp is that swimming is prohibited in their beautiful lake. Other than that, this site is highly recommended.

This park is clean, well maintained and feels safe and comfortable. I felt so at home here the second I arrived. The rangers are awesome and personable. The lake is beautiful and I spent hours just sitting and watching the geese. I'll stay here again.
