Easy check in, clean sites and bath houses, trash pickup at site and firewood delivery offered to site. The sites are roomy and the stays are always peaceful. The camp managers are great too!

The showers were dirty. Mold was growing in the grout and on the walls giving the appearance of never been cleaned. Past stays have had pristine clean bathrooms. Normally I would have given this campground a 5 star rating.

It was a great location. The host and people that were visiting were very friendly inviting and the atmosphere was spot on beautiful scenery, as well as peaceful and quaint.

The river seam to be full of a muck that had the appearance of guts. The ground around my campsite was covered in geese droppings. I mentioned this to the grounds people, but they didn’t do anything to clean it up.

Watauga Dam Campground is one of our favorites. It's always peaceful and quiet and you can count on it feeling cooler during the summer due to the water coming out of Watauga Lake.

We love this campground and our campsite was great. It may need a new faucet tho, we weren’t able to get a good connection. The staff is also very kind and helpful. The scenery is beautiful and it was wonderful to be cool when everywhere else was boiling.

Overall the campground is great! Would like to have some cell service and WiFi but it’s understandable because of the secluded location. Also I wish everyone would keep their dogs on a leash per campground rules. They may be well trained but if they were to come near mine when they are off the leash, then that would not end well. No need for that stress just because people don’t follow that rule.
