Wilson’s is a seasonal campground with a handful of nightly sites. Their focus is on their seasonal spots. There is only one dumpster available for nightly guests, the outhouse is portable toilets and despite many tiles and signs about no dogs in the beach, we saw at least four different groups with dogs on the beach. We adore dogs so it wasn’t an issue for us, but we also left our dog in the trailer because of the “rules”. There were also multiple, bolded nuts about aggressive dogs not being allowed and yet while walking our leashed, blind senior Border Collie dog, she was attacked by an unleashed, aggressive dog. It was very scary and brought at least a dozen other campers running from their sites to see/help. Our pup escaped without bite wounds only because my husband laid out flat on top of her to protect her from the dog that could not be controlled by its owner. I visited the office multiple times though out the weekend looking to speak to an adult but there were only teenagers on shift. The door to the office was even locked at 9:30am on Sunday morning - check out day. 🤷♀️ The beach is fine. The sites are treed but very close together. I felt bad running our generator to use the microwave for two minutes because the generator, at the back end of our trailer, was RIGHT beside the neighbouring sites fire pit and gathering location. The booking sites map is not completely accurate, a site that appears to be right near the shoreline is in fact next to a seasonal site that sits between the nightly site and the shoreline. That seasonal site is pretty amazing though. Overall, some issues we encountered were situational (dog attack) and others were specific to the campground. I still will not be returning to a campground that makes the nightly guests feel like second class citizens.
