This was an amazing stay. We stayed in the "primitive campsites" with no electricity. (There are electric sites, just mentioning my personal experience.) I have camped with no electricity before several times, was very prepared for it. I liked how secluded under the trees we were and right next to a path down to the beach right on Lake Superior! Rockhounding was really fun, found some pretty cool rocks to take home. Probably the only con I would say, for anyone who is looking for a quiet weekend, the primitive sites are right next to a community center for the town/village. They put up a out door projector and played a movie really loudly until almost 1 in the morning (Quiet time at the campgrounds is 11pm.) I understand this is probably not within the campgrounds ability to prevent activities in the community center, nor would it bother some people, but I figure it worth mentioning for a review.
One last pro though, being so close to Pictured Rocks was fantastic! There is so many things to do in the over 100 miles worth of beauty, and you're literally less than a 4 minute drive from getting to the start of your journey within. Also be aware to deal with a ton of sand being so close to the beach, it is everywhere! Bring a good pair of shoes to go in the water, it is all rocks.
